Not sure where to put this so feel free to move if you can think of a better place.
Coke vs Water
Water Or Coke ???
Which one is the 'Real Thing' ???
We all know that water is important but you've never seen it written down like this before.
WATER
1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. (Likely applies to half world population.)
2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.
COKE
1. In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.
2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days.
FOR YOUR INFORMATION:
1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium
from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis.
2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous Material place cards reserved for highly corrosive
materials.
Now the question is, would YOU like a glass of water or Coke?

and tells you where the myths may have stemmed:
Though the point is made, I think water is better than coke anyhow

I would say the molar volume must be taken in consideration. It is the concentration values that are not considered here

Like everything Coke is best enjoyed in moderation. As far as its acidic effects, the mucus memberanes secrete more than adequate protection from the
acid like properties. Many popular food its can do stuff like this. Taco Bell hot sauce can clean a penny like you would not believe. In the hospital
we use Coke to clean out clogged feeding tubes.

well i'm not sure about all of the coke myths, but Id prefer water anyway, you know why?
It improves skin, cures thirst AND hunger ( big thumbs up for htose hoping to lose weight) and...though it seems odd (like global warming causing an
ice age) drinking alot of water makes you lose water weight fast so that you can break down fats faster (at least it has for me.)

I drink coke about once a week or so. It's quite refreshing, but the nasty unhealthiness kind of turns me off.

Ya I remember in grade 9 science, we used a human tooth and left it in coke for a few days. The result? nothing.... It was neat too bad I don't have
any spare teeth to try it out again.

I wouldn't sweat it, your stomach acid is much stronger that Coke. It won't take 2 days for that steak to disappear there. Either are fine and both
mix well with Rum.

Coke is way too sugary imo. If i drink a can of coke i need to go find a bottle of water to quench my thirst from all the sugar i just downed. Yeah it
does rot the teeth, my friend is a big coke drinker and he just turned 20 with 4 cavities and he knows its from the coke. i guess it is addicting
though, if someone offers it to me i'll take it because i like the taste. we don't buy any soda's in my house really because they are not the
healthiest of drinks so i sparingly drink sodas if im at my friends house or something.

The active ingredient in Coke is the same one in coffee, caffine. Then add sugar on top of that. Get's the heart going in the morning.

Even with the assumption that all of the Coke lore that we have heard over the years is true; What makes them different from other brands of soda?

I stopped drinking coke after an experiment a friend of mine ask me to do. I had a fairly old penny that was dirty and tarnished. I put the penny in
a glass of coke and within minutes, the penny looked like it just came from the mint.

I wouldn't sweat it, your stomach acid is much stronger that Coke. It won't take 2 days for that steak to disappear there.
Not to mention the fact that our saliva has hundreds of enzymes that start to break down the coke from the very minute it enters your mouth...sending
what little nutrients there are directly through the porous membranes in your mouth. Your body kind of knows what's good for it and what's not and
makes hast with excriting the waste - so really all that sticks around is your sugar high and caffeine buzz, and maybe some cramps if you exercise
right afterwards...
Needless to say, I drink far more water than I do coke, but I don't think it's gonna rot away anything - unless I stop brushing my teeth
Let's be glad the took the coke out of coke

I'd say it's worse. If you have to drink a soda you might as well drink the real thing. Check this article out >>
