What is this in the sun?

What is this ball at about the 10 o'clock position relative to the sun which looks almost like a star trying to peer out from behind the sun? It's one of the strangest looking sunspots / flares I've ever seen.

I don't see any sunspots in that area on the Spaceweather.com site. I know there are many here who might be able to help me identify the "spot"

I'd assume that would be a flare. It looks like one to me and i don't really think it looks all that strange. It definately wouldn't be a sun spot, since those are on the surface of the sun and we cannot see that in this image.

It's normal flare/CME

And BTW, size of sun is marked with that white circle.

I think its just a run of the mill sunspot....

The item being shown isn't the sun. It's the sun's corona.

The sun is actually being obscured by the red disc with the circle in it. And what's in the picture is a fairly standard view of the corona... and the starfield behind it.

Between the Swan Radar not bring Up dated Funny Bussiness eith NASA altering photos.....Strange Sun activity.....Naval deployments......something is nutty with the Fed reserve.....hummmmm um alittle worried we might be in danger
