The TV movie is VERY faithful to the story...probably the most literal translation of a King work to film. It really is quite good. The acting could have been better for some roles, and there were some pretty inexpensive effects towards the end...but the story, characters, and overall execution was good, and really gave you that fear of the unknown, and the tense impending doom, but with a good ending.

I guess I need to check it out then.

It's just that... Usually a movie doesn't come anywhere near of what I've imagined myself.

I loved that flick...a modern aircraft carrier does a time warp to WWII.

Another cool thing, the markings on the fighter jets look just like those of Robotech's fighters....(yes, I know Robotech copied them, but still, neat to see, for fans of the show).

The Japanese have a love affair with the Tomcat, VF-154's Tomcats always drew the crowds. For reference the featured squadron in the movie is VF-84 Jolly Rogers. I also love Robotech it's my favorite animated series.
