Okay, here's the Christian part. The Bible is clear about same-sex sexual behaviour. There are many ways of interpreting Scripture, but getting it to condone same-sex sexual practice twists it beyond recognition

Leviticus 18:22
Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.

Leviticus 20:13
If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (NIV): "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters, nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."

These scriptures clearly state that these vile affections of men lusting for other men (gay men) or women lusting for other women (lesbians) are not the natural affections God created men and women to have for one another. Let me say here that God loves all homosexuals! However, He hates the deeds of homosexuality because they are sinful. God did not create any human being as a homosexual. They are not born that way, just as murderers are not born that way. However, these spirits can be transmitted to children, especially if someone who had this demonic spirit seduced or raped a child--or even if they were close to gay people. These demons can also be imparted to others through unholy sexual acts.

People become homosexuals because they yield to abnormal acts or lust. It is through some source that they have received a demonic spirit that drives them to their lust. Viewing evil videos or pornographic books is a way of opening the door for Satan to give one an evil, perverse spirit. Though people are not born as homosexuals, the Bible does say all human beings are born with a sin nature. If we yield to the evils of our flesh it will lead to our destruction not only in this life, but in the life to come. However, through faith in Jesus Christ and His death on the cross we can break the hold that sin has upon us. We do not have to yield to the old fleshy nature but we can now overcome evil temptations and live our lives controlled by the Holy Spirit.

The Devils purpose is to oppose GOD, and destroy man. And the one obvious way of doing that is to keep them from reproducing. Tell me straight up without any excuses or anything what exactly would happen if everyone on earth was gay or lesbian?

Still not convinced or still in denial? here's a good web site for you to study.

Welcome to ATS. This is a HUGE topic here. I don't believe gay people are possessed by demons. That's 19th century stuff, if you ask me. As to the reproduction factor, gay people are beginning to adopt, lesbians are being inseminated, thus having children of their own. So I just don't see it.

Dunno about Christian. The first two lines of scripture are Jewish.

The line from the NT is a later edited version.

The original didn't read homosexuals. It read "nor abusers of themselves with mankind".
It also comes from Paul. One of the most edited and forged authors in the Bible.

Its a fine topic for discussion but lets take it to theology, shall we? I will say with the assessment by FrStyleKing, personally.

Apparently you haven't met many gays or spoken to them. If you had, you'd find out that they don't become homosexual through "evil acts and lust" and that many strong Christians have wrestled with this (including taking psychiatric sessions, and even electroshock therapy.) It's not demonic... it's something genetic.

You could no more change a true gay person into a heterosexual than you could change me into a homosexual.

Besides, there are a LOT of examples in nature (animals) showing homosexual behavior in just about every species on the planet. It could be a response to overcrowding... that's not impossible. But demons? No.

I do believe that homosexuality (as practice) is wrong. But I respect them as human beings.

Imagine if we are all homosexuals... it will be chaos.

I think the world has a ballance, and we as humans most protect that ballance. We think too much, and we tend to forget alot of things when we are in anger or in any other fellings...

We most protect the ballance of living...

To all homosexual, please think about it before it's too late.

The worse sin is to make evil good.

How do you know is wrong? because you were brough up thinking is wrong? homosexuality has been around since the begining of men, and the only reason is "wrong" is because is a book call "the bible" and the bible tell you so. Right?

It is morally disgusting and yes, it is wrong because the Bible says so.
In America, 86% of the people adhere to some version of Christianity.
If such a thing is against Christian teaching and America is primarily a Christian country, why should we as Christians be forced to accept it as a form of normalcy?

By allowing homosexuality to be an accepted lifestyle, we are opening a Pandora's Box to any other form of degeneracy under the protection of the Constitution.

How about someone who has sex with roadkill, and openly flaunts it?
Should that be an acceptable lifestyle?
Would you like that person as a neighbor?

No, homosexuality is not acceptable as a form of normalcy, and by allowing Gay's to adopt and have children, another generation will grow up with a confused sense of self identity.

Just another ploy by the liberal left to destroy Christian values and bring this country down.

The country of US is for everybody I wonder Hoosier Daddy what are you point of view of doing we homosexuality in this country, should we round them up and dispose of them? Or should we put them in jail? Or perhaps we should put them in concentration camps?

You know this people are humans being like you like me, and they are here to stay and to stay they will and their way of living is something that you or me or anybody have the right to dictated.

The bible also tell, "Love thee neighbor as you love yourself"

I guess your bible is the homophobic one.

posted on Jul, 5 2004 @ 07:22 PM
No they shouldn't be killed, rounded up, or put in camps.
They will be with us always.
What they should do is keep their sexuality to themselves, like we do.
I have never seen a "Straight Pride Parade" have you?

If you want to engage in that behavior, fine, keep it to yourself.
Homosexuality should be looked at as an illness, which is what I think it is.
Maybe it stems from a genetic defect, sexual abuse, rejection by the opposite sex, or too few of the proper chromosomes.

But an illness it is.

posted on Jul, 5 2004 @ 07:30 PM
Hoosier Daddy, no.............I don't see it as a illness, but more of a choice or some people just feel that they are in the wrong bodies, must people that denied their feelings and try to live a "normal life" end up miserable and making their love ones victims, just for the sake of society, I have a son and a daughter that I love them more that life and if one day any of them come to me and tell me that they have a different way of life and that they feel better with the same sex, what I am suppose to do? Stop loving them, hate them I think not, I will still love them the same and I will welcome their choices as adults.

This thread probably should be in ATS, but I'll go ahead anyway. Thinking that homosexuality is the cause of the devil and being possessed by evil spirits is, as stated before, outdated thinking. I'm trying to think of an equivalent situation but can't seem to think of one.

According to the Bible, yes you are right. But then it is essential that you question the correctness of the Bible versus what is being placed before you. Is God creating homosexuals so, under the Bible, they will not be able to properly advance in sexual acts? Just a simple question...

Ive heard this arguement (along with many many more) so many times, that I can almost repeat them to you verbatim.

In order to be able to argue against people who use the Bible as "proof" (*smirk*) it is often necessary that they take into account that the book itself might be fallible.

And since very VERY few Christians are open-minded enough and strong enough in their personal-beliefs to question for even one moment their faith, I find these arguements almost impossible.

So I would like to ask, is there any argument that you people can come up with that isnt religious in nature?

Because using religion in an argument against the unreligious is an effort in futility. Youre beliefs can only be used to explain things to yourself, and to people who believe the same way. If I dont believe what you believe, you are just speaking gibberish that I will give 0 respect to.

Anyways I look forward to any non-religious explainations you can come up with.

(I hate these threads, but I still participate :-/)

A few sidenotes:
EYE-YAD, if anyone is protecting the balance of nature, its the homos. With yall breeders making babies as fast as you can and crowding the world and whatnot.. Nature doesnt have to worry about gays reproducing and cutting down forests to make highways for our children to zoom around on
Maybe a hyperbole, but still makes a point.

Hoosier Daddy: The only arguement you really use is a religious one.. Morals are widely (Almost exclusively) affected by your religion of choice. By saying that everyone else has to follow "Rules" set by YOUR religion, you are saying that they also have to be a part of it.

Hoosier Daddy,

I'm curious how you came up with the figure that says that 86% of Americans adhere to some form of Christianity. How you get that exactly ?

And even if it's true, which I doubt it is, considering the melting pot of cultures we have, so what ? You STILL have to respect the remaining percentage of citizens who may not believe in your bible.

I really don't see what all the fuss is about. Love is love is love. And if that love happens to come in same sex couples, so the # what ??? This world NEEDS all the love it can GET as far as I am concerned.

Quite frankly, when you consider the divorce rate there are a lot of conventional man-woman couples who should never have gotten together in the first place let alone married. I would rather see a gay couple who loves each other and is happy, then a yuppie couple whose first love is for money rather then each other who go to bed at night talking about the next high tech toy they plan to obtain rather then their feelings for each other.

TextBecause using religion in an argument against the unreligious is an effort in futility

What do you expect most people can not think for themself they need their bilbles to make decicions, their need the bible so they can blame somebody for their own mistakes, and feel good about it because the bible tell them so.

Just one example of the many MANY little "straight pride" parades that go on everyday, more than making up for the one big one homos have everyonce in awhile.

I guess most straight people dont really realize how much of the world is contingent on you being straight. Everyday, so many things throw the fact that you "arent straight" in your face that you wouldnt believe it. So I guess in essence, everyday is a straight pride parade.

I guess its one of those "You have to be standing on the outside, to see it in its entirity" kinda things.. Since you are in the middle of it as part of the majority that is catered to, you cant see it for what it really is

This world we live in needs love. Loving relationships are harder and harder to find with divorce rates skyrocketing. Where love is concerned, form doesn't matter. I don't know anyone capable of choosing who they fall in love with. We as individuals and societies - as humans - need to cherish and foster love no matter if the gender/race/age/etc of the people involved.

Hate is so prevalent in this world. Why must we insist on destroying the love we have?

Shidge I dsagree that a persons religous beliefs can't be used as proof in a rational debate. Most of the things we hold true to are unprovable in nature. The fact that you disagree with those beliefs in no way negates them nor does it give you the right to discount them. The phrase freedom of religon means that people may choose to beleve in what ever thier heart tells them to. Belief in the teachings of jesus and the gospel are central to the lves of a far greater population than those who believe in the roswell incident, yet on this board roswell and the pihladelphia experiment are considered as good as proven. I cannot prove that Jesus was the son of god anymore than you can prove what you beleve in but fortunatley for me, when it comes to the word of God I don't have to prove it. Its called Faith.

And I'm sorry but Homosexuality is as wrong as Beastiality. Both are lifestyle choces under your definition, and you are correct, Sin is a lifestyle choice too

You have the faith in your God.
I dont.

So why should you be able to argue against me with something I dont believe in? That makes 0 sense.

You can use religion to argue with another religious person, but you are just speaking gibberish when you try to use it against someone who doesnt believe.

If you truly believe in freedom of religion, then realize that by using what your god says against someone who doesnt recognize your god as the supreme one is the same thing as saying "YOU MUST BE MY RELIGION".

Because for me to respect your God to the degree that I follow the mandates he has set, then I would need to have faith in him.

God, I have a lot of run on sentences lol.
