There are objects in space that can only be seen from the southern hemisphere, so the statement “requires observations from a southern station" is technically true. HOWEVER, there are no objects that can only be seen from Antarctica. Any object seen from Antarctica would be visible from virtually the entire southern hemisphere.

For example, the North Star (Polaris) is located virtually directly over the North Pole, but is can be seen by the entire northern hemisphere. I live in the North-east United States at a mid-latitude (about 42° N), and I can view the North Star relatively high in my sky -- about half way up from the horizon the the zenith.

A object directly over the South Pole (which is as far south in the sky any object could be) would be visible relatively high is the sky to many southern hemisphere locations -- and would be visible somewhere in the sky from ALL southern hemisphere locations.

But all of that "knowledge" was cooked up by people in the last few years. Zechariah Sitchen is a perfect example. He took other people's translations of ancient texts and distorted them to tell stories of his own invention. Here is his method: start with an ancient text and assume that it is historical fact. (Pseudo-history.) Claim that it describes advanced science as described by primitive eyes. (Pseudo-science.) Substitute the word "spaceship" for any word of obscure meaning. (Pseudo-philology!) Let's Sitchen-ize this acient revered text:

Obviously, the word "tuffett" must be a spaceship. What else could it possibly be? We know that Miss Muffett is an alien of small stature that consumes an organic protoplasm that the ancients ignorantly described as "curds and whey," much as they mistook the complex amino acids the aliens created humanity out of for "mud." Her spacecraft is attacked by an arachnoid alien with superior technology, forcing her to retreat to home base.

Simple. And people lap it up like curds and whey. Sitchen was not a scholar, he was a charlatan.

Perhaps English is not your first language, but the new exo-planet is NOT in our solar system, but rather about 2000 light-years away. You are right though -- It is thought to have come from outside the Milky Way Galaxy, but was then captured by our Galaxy.

Just got to add something to that, neither the planet nor the star it is orbiting has physically 'moved' into our galaxy, the milky way has expanded and now covers an area that this planet/star is in. Little bit like conurbation where your town at some point gets swallowed up by an expanding city.

I suppose you didn't read my post above explaining that there is no object in space that is only visible from Antarctica. Even if it is directly in line with the south pole, then it should also be visible from just about everywhere else in the southern hemisphere.

Telescopes (and infra-red telescopes) in Chile, Argentina, Southern Africa, Australia, New Zealand, etc should also be able to see it.

Even if we don't "see" Nibiru in December 2012, there will probably still be people attributing every event thereafter (earthquakes, hurricanes, UFO sightings, wars, peace, etc.) to Nibiru. They perhaps will claim that even though we couldn't see it as it "passed through", it still affected us.

In 1987, there was an event called the "harmonic convergence" which was an arrangement of some of the planets in the solar system into a triangle. Some people claimed this convergence would usher in a brand new age of enlightenment -- or possibly the end of the world. So, two years later when communism fell, some "new age" types claimed the fall of communism was directly related to the harmonic convergence.

I do not believe in niburu, or planet x and the annunaki. I believe humans do not run planet earth and i make this assumption on mans stupidity, and generally are rubbish about getting things right.

But for me annunaki story is false.
