so my moms friends son died in his sleep last night...some facts=
he was 32
he had a urinary tract infection and was taking cipro for it
he had some sort of tooth infection

so what do you think..my thought is that there was an underrlying problem with his immune system

It would be absolutely impossible to speculate, based upon the information provided, upon a probable cause of death. Underlying health problems, personal "habits", spontaneous events (stroke, heart attack, blood clots, etc), family medical history... all sorts of things to consider beyond UTI, tooth infection, and Cipro.

I am assuming that there will be an autopsy in this case to establish cause of death. I'd imagine that this would be the only way to find out.

Sorry to hear and very young to die like that.

Could be numerous reasons but I think its better to leave the experts to examine the body and give you the correct answers.

RIP.

So sorry to hear about your friend. As you say I am sure it will be difficult to know anything for certain until an autopsy. Perhaps your friend was allergic to Cipro. I was given Cipro for a UTI several years ago and had a pretty severe reaction that landed me in the hospital. It not only totally disrupted my digestive system but also caused by blood pressure to drop and due to all of that my potassium levels dropped significantly. Don't remember the exact numbers now but I literally thought I was going to die. I am a person who rarely takes anything and I guess the Cipro was just too strong for my system. I hope you get some anwers soon.

Sorry to hear the sad news and such a terrible loss for your Mothers friend,I'm no expert but tooth infections can have dire effects on the heart,in other words the infection can spread to the heart.
