Policy Failure Led to Our Crisis-(Thomas Heffner)

I think this article nicely sums up the cause of America's economic woes from a political standpoint. The article contains six general policy failures which brought on the whole mess America is in along with some possible solutions.

I don't think the solutions offered are viable at this point. I feel America has reached a critical tipping point and that it's already at least 5 years too late to stop the economic disaster unfolding now. I could be wrong. What do you all think?
