Nice find and great post. This is huge. Hopefully it'll gain some steam behind it and really get everyone talking. Unfortunately, all too often these articles seem to fade away as quickly and abruptly as they showed up.

While it's gratifying to FINALLY see this become news... the first second and third order implications consequences and etc of this can be seen in the militarization of first federal law enforcement then our local police forces the anti gun movement and the government corporate "partnerships"

Now the funny thing is that people would think it would be any way BUT this considering how much the ideology was secretly and not so secretly admired here.

OK, now we need to learn why they decided to take some of them at Argentina where they probably transfered the Nazi atomic program that researched nuclear material and other technologies codenamed as The Nazi Bell, and what happened to this program up to date.

it may be "conspiracy 101" to us on ATS, but, most of america still thinks columbus discovered america and other "historical" facts to have this in the NYT is very good. mouths are dropping all over the US as they read that.

The report is nothing new and has been documented and heavily covered in the past. Operation Paperclip would be one of those programs, which changed the history of more than a few Nazi scientists in order to get them into the US and to use them in scientific capacities.

Werner von Braun comes to mind.

The U was not the only country who did this. I am curious about the timing as well, and wonder why its being turned into a "news story" as if the media just discovered this little fact this week.

I remember reading that Anwar al-Awlaki: a most ungrateful Pentagon dinner guest .. That coupled with this story it is no wonder why the CIA has so many secrets like maybe setting up or letting things happen that better their cause.... The evidence gets more credible everyday and I wonder what else they are hiding...

I am curious as to whether this report includes details of the MKULTRA related Nazi 'talent' that was imported into the CIA for their mind-control techniques and methods, developed in prison camps and imported to the CIA for use in trauma-based mind control as documented in Rise of the 4th Reich and elsewhere.

I think the big news here is, sure, we all knew about project 'Paperclip', and the use of Nazi Scientists at the end of WWII, but TPTB hadnt come out and said that they had given safe haven to non-scientific Nazi's as well. How could they- at least they had the excuse with the scientists that they were contributing to US's defence program- what about the other Nazi's- why werent they at Nuremburg with the rest of their kind, answering for their crimes? What were they contributing?

Also, from what I have read, the Nazi's were a long way from having an 'A' bomb as such in 1945- perhaps a 'dirty' bomb, but not an atomic bomb of the type used at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Ironically, it had been the Jewish scientists that fled the Nazi regime in the '30s that held many of the key ideas that helped the 'Manhattan' project off the ground- Hitler didnt cotton on to the importance of Nuclear science until far too late in the war, calling it "that 'Jewish' science".

You are in error to assume that the Nazis didn't have the A Bomb. Some evidence is available it was used against the Soviet forces as early as 1943. There is additional evidence that the special fuses needed to detonate the bombs used on Japan by the US may have been supplied by Nazis who made a deal with their captors. But, the A Bomb took second place in prized German armaments to "The Bell" as war technology.

Its true that they were not close to having an atomic weapon like the U.S. but the reason the U.S. went after the Nazi nuclear technology was that the government did not want Russia to get it. Why were these men not held on trial at the Nuremburg trials because they were fueling the country for the Cold War. They did so with the knowledge of technology or with information gathered on our enemies. Reinhard Gehlen was the Chief of Intellegence Gathering on the Eastern front for the Nazis. After the war he turned himself over to the U.S. and all of his files on Russia. The U.S. sent him back to Germany to head up their intellegence on Russia. He began the Gehlen Organization which employed many ex-Nazis.

Found this and put it on my blog this morning. It is a great story, vindicating with official support the stories that us tin hatters have been lobbing around for the last few decades.

Know why San Antonio was the landing port for Project Paperclip? Close to LANL, and literally full of German folks. Every town down there is German (New Braunfels, Fredricksberg, Boerne, Gruene, etc, etc). There are tons of German festivals in the area (we just went to Wurstfest last weekend). A great place to acclimate German folks to American society, in a larger metro area that they can blend in with, given their accents.

Which begs the question....how many were brought in and not really tracked? That kind of just went off to blend in with the crowd?

Of course the USA took in Nazi's. They were some of the brightest. If not for Nazi scientists, America wouldn't have set foot on the moon when they did. It was all part of making sure the USSR didn't get a hold of these men and the technology they knew how to create.

The Nazi scientists we had imported were not the "top scientists". They escaped to South America to continue their work independently. Could it be that when we arrived on the moon, Nazis were already there warning us off? Thus the early cancellation of the Apollo program and 40 years of "limited low Earth orbit" missions.

The CIA allowed this to occur... Intresting being the CIa did not exist at the time this occured. The OSS variation did, and was spilt between the State Department and the War department by President Truman.

This was not a secret, as its called operation paperwclip. The US is not the only country who did this. Sometimes the paranoia in this place is bordering on the verge of delusional in terms of seeing conspiracies in everything.

While people want to make the argument for the moral high ground, had it not been for some secret programs like this, we very well might not be the country we are today. Nuclear weapons, computers, advance technology, the space program, satellites, submarines, electronics etc..

The groups people have a tendancy to condemn are a neccisary evil. To assume that the US would never be targeted or attacked because we want to think we are morally superior is a joke.
