Technologies of the Gods brings convincing evidence that ancient civilizations utilized high-tech engineering methods equal to, if not superior to our own and that these technologies were being applied on a world-wide level.

It has long been suspected that the Great Pyramids, Stonehenge, and the Mayan temples could not have been built using the primitive technologies attributed to those peoples by the orthodox academic view which states that primitive civilization in Mesopotamia, Egypt and India emerged from the stone age just over five thousand years ago.

In Technologies of the Gods breakthrough researchers, writers and engineers take a look at real evidence - largely ignored by the academic establishment - which shatters the orthodox scenario for the dawn of civilization on Earth.

The book 'Forbidden history' is good read. It covers the ancient technologies, one global culture belief and mentions the means by which academia 'knowledge filters' by cooking the books. There's a couple of chapters in there where a suggestion is made that the pyramids were power plants.

Yup, it has.

Points of contention:
Stone henge was built during the stone age.
Great Pyramids were built well into the Bronze Age.
Mayan Pyramids were built well up into the 1400's AD, but they were still technically in their stone age, less metal available for them to work.

As for "The entire civilization", that's entire civilizations, and they didn't just emerge. Various different cultures developed at various different rates, some stayed wandering tribes, some settled around ready food and water sources, forming towns and permanent settlements. (Like Jericho, predates known civilization. Was already a city by the time what is most often used as civilization actually started developing.)

You hear a lot about Sumer, but less about the Elamites.
Much about the Mayans, less about the Olmecs.
Much about pyramids, less about Ziggurats.

In fact it's the opposite. The 'ancient technology' researchers ignore most academic research unless it was published before the 20th Century. Even there, they cherry pick details or simply get their information from other writers which causes a feedback loop of mutual validation. It's like being on the farm for a while and you stop smelling the BS.

How do you personally feel about the belief within mainstream academia, that the pyramids were built by farmers? They're clearly built with extreme precision and feature 75 ton blocks of granite raised ten storeys up. If structures of this significance are inexplicable - why do you think that is? Have we just forgotten? Or are there influencial forces out there that have been re-writing history?

In my opinion academia is merely a more respectable branch of the MSM.

Personally, I haven't read any references to farmers building the pyramids. They aren't built from granite rather than limestone. Limestone is much lighter and easier to quarry from the limestone bedrock that much of Giza is sitting on. The quarries remain...

It's worth being cautious about sources using phrases like 'extreme precision.' They tend to try and lead people into believing the pyramids are even more extraordinary than they already are.

In a sense, we have 'forgotten' how some of the pyramids were built. Time and fortune play a large part in this. Although we know how some of the pyramids were constructed (physical evidence of ramps etc), the Great Pyramid still attracts discussion. Lehner found what looks to be the remains of an external ramp and the consensus supports the idea...still, there's an element of uncertainty.
