Anyone remember that old energizer commercial where he powers the aliens spaceship. That is pretty old but they still play it from time to time on TV.

These are just funny stories we tell each other to make the unknown seem less formidable. In the case of ETs, conceivably a sort of self-preparation against the day we meet them face to face. No need for a conspiracy or an agenda here. The ad agencies have figured out a new way to make money. That's all the motivation they need! Ironically, they may also be serving a quite different purpose, without realizing it. Ross

No..why would you think this was conditioning?

Aliens are pretty solidly marketed in our current culture. There are Alien computers.. computer games full of aliens.. tons of movies with aliens.. it's an "in" thing now. So a few silly commercials.. um.. no. Honestly.. conditioning us for what? To be taken away by sex-driven aliens? I don't think so.

OP: an entirely valid theory, didn't hollywood go mental with alien movies right after roswell? i always equated the entertainment media's capitalization of real current events to either one of two theories:

1. it really is true that TPTB have total control over all media and influence what happens in hollywood as a way of spreading disinformation (notice how 2012 has always been a huge issue, now it gets laughed about because somebody made a blockbuster movie about it, rendering any serious speculation over the issue as laughable and silly). you know 'LOL thats was in a movie, you don't really believe it do you...?' etc.

2. it isn't deliberate, and the money hungry hollywood guys just simply capitalize on internet hype in order to sell movie tickets. look at how viral marketing has taken off in just the last few years, paranormal activity/the fourth kind/2012 etc... all relied on spreading commercial 'disinformation' purely for the purpose of hyping the movie/product for commercial gain. no sinister agenda here, just marketing.

the fundamental point being; just because a commercial or movie exists that light-heartedly parodies a relevant and very real subject, it doesn't mean that the core subject matter should be taken any less seriously. it's the same as the guys who find a few flaws in 'loose change' and use that as means to ridicule every 9/11 theory that has ever existed.

i am in no place to say whether this particular commercial really is clever disinfo-bluffing or whatever, because i don't know. i don't think the MSM is as meticulously controlled and orchestrated as some people make out, because the liberties that exist in our system cannot prevent it (look at how outraged the public gets if a movie gets 'banned', which in itself has been used for decades as a marketing strategy to lure people into gore flicks etc; it brings even more attention), but there is a very intelligent system of control inherent. as a random unrelated example; it's like they 'allowed' michael moore to release farenheit 9/11, while at the same time turning him into a public enemy and blackening his reputation by painting him as an ignorant socialist radical through fox etc, subsequently painting anybody who has ever believed in anything similar to anything michael moore has ever said as a socialist radical also; with the added bonus of the '...well if it really was a big global conspiracy wouldn't they have banned it???' paradox.

i mean surely someone in hollywood is going to make a matrix-esque movie based entirely on the subject of disinformation, and after that every time somebody uses the term it will be laughed at as being 'that thing that was in that one lame movie, how can you think thats real lolz' etc, and thus the mere concept of disinfo/conditioning/whatever just becomes another irrelevant pop culture fad with zero credibility.

so point being, don't be the one who gets angry/freaked out; because there's a million people out there who will think you are stupid just for simply addressing the subject before you even voice an opinion, and the best way to beat the system is to ignore it and hope that others follow your example; without making any attempt to persuade them to.
