Earth Directed Eruption:

spaceweather.com

Active sunspot 1123 erupted during the early hours of Nov. 12th, producing a C4-class solar flare and apparently hurling a filament of material in the general direction of Earth.

Coronagraph images from NASA's twin STEREO spacecraft show a coronal mass ejection (CME) emerging from the blast site and heading off in a direction just south of the sun-Earth line. The cloud could deliver a glancing blow to Earth's magnetic field sometime on Nov. 14th or 15th, sparking auroras.

Early this morning a coronal mass ejection left the sun on line to strike thearth a hopefully glancing blow. I find it interesting that it will arrive about the same time the webbot predicted a major event: November 14th.

Coincidence?

Who knows?

There's an ejection several times a month, one of them was bound to eventually coincide with a webbot date.

well to my understanding since its c class nothing should happen.
Correct?

pretty much...some nifty auroras at a minimum...depends upon how directly it hits, and how dense it is....potentially could be nasty, but not likely.

It really doesn't seem to be Earth directed at all but in any case it is insignificant. It just might be barely visible in this SOHO image at the 4-6 o'clock position with no sign of the "halo" effect which indicates it's headed for Earth:

STEREO B shows it as a very mild ejection directed well "south" of Earth.

Is this an X class or higher flare? No. Will it therefore have any truely staggering effects on the Earth, its magnetic field, atmosphere or people? No . Is it therefore a big deal, something to worry about ? No.
Its good to have the information that it is happening, and from the point of veiw of a solarphile its grand that someone has pointed this out, but we have GOT to utterly remove the vaugely apprehensive content of threads like this. Its a C-4 flare? Its going to do nothing, have a negligable effect on bits of nothing that dont effect any of us one iota.
Also , this "event" from the prediction of whomever it was made it, cannot be connected. Again this flare isnt big enough to cause a stink. When an X class flare occurs in conjunction with a prediction of doom, THEN start to worry, because an X class flare pointed at our planet WILL be nasty. Everything else is at best going to do nothing, and at worst cause very little disturbance on the whole, and will only effect specific regions, usualy those areas around the poles. Do not panic, theres more years of mind numbing tedium under the yoke of capitalism to come yet.
