Gene Simmons of KISS fame, singing the MILITARY MEDLEY

I found this on another forum and I was simply amazed. Gene was never a favorite of mine, but this moved him up quite a few notches in my book:

Is this some sort of going away party,or a push to get some of those young whippersnappers enrolled?.As Gene says," Navy,your next!"

no he was letting them know what song was coming up next...Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines

OK so what do we have here ?
1 a self promotion ?
2 entertainment for the defense force ?
3 or a marketing promotion for the youth to popularize signing upto the next upcomming bloodbath ?
4 All of the above ( win,win ) ?

I have to say I was quite surprised to see Gene Simmons doing something like this. I always thought of him as abnoxious, but hey, he has matured since the 70's I guess. That video was fun. Thanks for sharing!

Keep in mind that there is the KISS Gene Simmons and the private Gene Simmons. The private Gene Simmons is a university educated, successful businessman, who speaks along with his native Hebrew, English and at least 2 other languages. He is fairly conservative in that he supported Bush's foreign policy including the Iraq war, so the appearance in the video is not so strange.

All I see is the money-hungry, fame-hungry, opportunistic Gene Simmons.

Whether he's with KISS or at home, it's the same guy. I find it impossible for a man who has supposedly bedded 100s of women, to be conservative in any tone.

You do see how illogical that sounds dont you?

I'm happy the guys get a break from the daily grind.

But Gene Simmons is one of the biggest tools in the music industry. I loved Kiss but Gene ruined it.
