I know I didn't post here for the prize anyway!

I doubt anyone else did either.
It's not like the prize is a plasma TV or ten minutes alone with Stephanie Meyer, a bucketload of tar and fifty chickens' worth of feathers.

agreed, I like that.

Its subtle & recognises, acknowledges & remembers the competition we all just participated in....

Now it's my turn to give it a bump!

Star Shine

Look up in the sky
A light pierces your eye
Flash ! It's a Star !
But from where and how Far ?
Maybe it has Planets with Life !
To bad we can't go there

Everybody was a winner in this contest.

Well... almost everybody. I couldn't applaud myself so I gave myself a warning instead.

Thank you for giving me the motivation to flex my writing fingers again. I hadn't written a poem in years.

I am now currently fleshing out my idea for the short story contest!!!

Congratulations guys! I can't wait for the next contest...I mean normally I'm of the opinion that music, art, and writing cannot be a contest because it's a matter of opinion, not necessarily who is "better"...for example, is Van Gogh a better painter than Monet? Or is Beethoven better than Vivaldi? Shakespeare better than Ginsberg? Ah, there's the rub...however these competitions do kind of give me more of an incentive to be creative and get off my lazy behind and write more, so I indeed will try to keep contributing
Thanks for having these! peace...

The writing forum is like an oasis in a world of screaming headlines.
Thank you very much Masqua.

gave yourself a warning?
what for? being so darn generous? thanks for the bonus I was stunned!

Also 20 stars?
wow I guess those bumps worked hey!

All the winners poems were fantastic and personally I want to just add that Hefficide's poem got to me in a big effing way. That was intense.

The poster above mentioned this was a haven from headlines - well I definitely agree, and after coming from the meaningless drivel on face book - straight to here - its one hell of an ascension! thank you for keeping these things alive Masqua & thanks for letting us all join in the fun

Peace,

I for one am disillusioned and disgruntled. The entire contest was a total set up, contrived to get me all excited I might win, and then cruelly crush my dreams under your jackbooted heels.

I held the lead with a paltry 10 stars for so long, I couldn't help but hope against hope that maybe...

Thanks ATS. If you need me I'll be curled up in a fetal position in the corner, watching youtube videos with that really annoying kid with the squeaky voice. Over and over and over and over...

LOL just kiddin! All the poems were great, and the winners absolutely deserved it! I was actually a little guilty my paltry 3 liner was doing so well, glad ATS came to their senses and bumped me down! Thanks Masqua for hosting it, and I am formulating my entry for the next event. See ya in there soon!

I just wanted to pop in to say thank you!!! for the positive reinforcement that has been so graciously afforded me here! I am truly humbled. Putting my words into the public domain was a very difficult and awkward experience and, to be blunt, I still feel a lot like I am now walking around ATS naked. But, my own self conscious nature aside, it's been a truly wonderful and fulfilling experience!

I look forward to the next opportunity to do this again.
