I will retract my earlier statement for now only because I can't find any reliable source. There are tons of CT sites, and other videos etc that say similar things but I don't like accepting other sites similar to project camelot, godlikeproductions or youtube as a source.
I do find the emphasis on 2012 though in most religions, prophecies, and tellings a bit nerve racking however. The only thing that hasn't really been mentioned though is what if the bunkers that moscow is building is really nothing more than revamping the existing bunker systems they already have in place. I mean it's been told that both china and russia have bunkers to house the majority of their population already. If that were the case then there wouldn't be the 30m mountains of debris and dirt from excavating the area. I do agree that it wouldn't go unnoticed if it was new ground being broken. We'll just have to wait and see I guess. Chances are my greedy @$$ government isn't going to do squat for us if there were catastrophe on the horizon so I'll just run up to the caves in my area and hope it's enough.

Some countries like Denmark are compact with a very high population density. I think one of the differences for the US is that we can transport people a great distance and still be within the US. The population of New Orleans was spread across a large part of the US.
That's a very clever suggestion that the bunkers are extensions to existing facilities. In many ways that would be an excellent way to increase the space. I like it.

Why do you suggest that this has anything to do with 2012?
Other than the date of completion I see no other connection. And even then, that's the completion date, there's no room for maneuvering.
I'm pretty sure that the Russian government has a long-standing mandate to provide refuge to their people in the event of a nuclear war. This has been the case since the cold war, it just hasn't been repealed.
It's probably a useful thing too, especially as we're now moving into a period of power shifting and the potential for a war is increasing.
IMO, Russia is just doing what's needed to assure their citizens. They're being sensible and preparing for an uncertain future.
Nato is building a missile defense shield to protect all member nations. The UK and France have signed an agreement developing further ties in Nuclear development and defense.
You think all of these events are unrelated?
Economic collapse creates great uncertainty. America is losing its global dominance and China or Russia are the next in line to become the global leader.
Do you honestly think all of this will happen without a missile being fired?

Its a bit late but I found the original story. I'm sorry I just saw this article today. It looks like it is from 07-12-2010. Also on the internet most of the titles of the video report are going off of the first quote in the actual report. Now I understand that in the video they say these are plans for bomb shelters to start construction around 2012 but the first sentence of the actual report reads:
"Nearly 5,000 new emergency bomb shelters will be built in Moscow by 2012 to save people in case of potential attacks."
I watched this video today and I too wondered how people could jump to the conclusion that Russia was "rapidly" contructing these bunkers. This report is actually all over the map. The general idea is that Russia is preparing for a nuclear attack but then Ivor says " its not necessarily for anything Nuclear, its just as a precaution."
Just on the surface it would seem Russia is preparing for WW3.

at the moment Russia can shelter 50% of its population which tends to be the norm world wide,apart from Switzerland who is the only country that can
safe guard its entire population,seems a little concerning that 5000 shelters are been constructed,i suspect to protect from some upcoming natural
