hello all, i'm posting because i'm new ... obviously. i joined ATS because i've found that news breaks on this site before mainstream media covers the story. also, people on the site seem to be open minded, and i appreciate discussion.

i'm not really a conspiracy theorist. i do believe that the world's very rich have power that the poor do not posses. i can't spell.

i believe the world would be better if resources were distributed and smaller communities had more control. i believe consensus can work, but only with limited numbers, or when the context for decision making is adjusted appropriately.

democracy fails when too many ppl are involved. there's always an unrepresented minority. capitalism fails. it doesn't eliminate poverty. technology provides solutions, but in this modern economy, the progress of technology is limited by the necessity to make 'profit.'

so im on here looking to discuss ... everything. to try and find some solutions to the world's problems. is that a lofty goal for a site like this? i'm not sure. what do you think?

It will enable you to watch who and what is being posted in chat but unfortunately you wont be able to join or chat back until your post count reaches 100 posts [I think..will check and confirm that asap ok]

Reply to this post with the reply function up top right of this post and that'll be another post towards your mandatory 20 posts before you can start your own threads

Please message me using the message button on far left ATS tool bar if you require any further help whatsoever!

Peace and much love!

I don't know how to answer this but the subject coincides with what I'm feeling at the moment more closely then anyone has written or I have read so far.
The problems I've tried to wrestle with are in the differences between how individuals and collective societies work. I think this is why are larger systems fall apart. I am in the USA and here we have police, court officials, attorneys, etc. these people all seem to as individuals to want to uphold the law for a peaceful society and it works on a small scale, but as a collective it fails miserably. Some of the examples you raised are on the same track. So is the problem in our collective hive mentality? Maybe we are not evolved enough to handle all the issues on a large scale yet and forget about a global one. What the real question is how to resolve this discrepancy, but again I don't know how to answer this.

Its hard to say. virtually every major societal system has failed before we got to the point we are now. who is to say this wont turn into something else.

Every intense desire is perhaps a desire to be different from what we are.
Eric Hoffer

I think this plays heavily into an individuals desire to be a part of society. everyone rubs off on each other, we are all part of a collective consciousness anyways.
