Two Iranian security guards working for the UN's mission in New York City have been expelled from the US after being discovered taking photos of infrastructure, transport systems, and NYC landmarks on three different occasions. Officials cited "activities incompatible with their stated duties," which is a kind term for espionage and/or spying.
Neither man had a diplomatic passport.
