Hello fellow ATS movie buffs.

The British winter has just started and I'm already feeling really low because of it, the cold, the short days and the darkness. What I really need is some good comedy movies to cheer me up, so have any of you got any recommendations for me.
I like everything from black comedy to dumb "broke lizard" type idiocy so anything will do, just as long as it lightens my mood.

I will leave with a clip of my all time favourite funny film.

Thank you I hadn't heard of some of those, I will watch them as soon as I can.

I loved Happy Gilmore, and Anchorman!

I especially love the bit in Anchorman where he has the cabinet full of ridiculous 70's Aftershaves and one is called "London Gentleman" and the scene where Jack Black kicks his dog off of a bridge

Rushmore, one of my all time favorite movies.
Clerks 2, just awesome
Orange County, mainstream but pretty damn good
The Big Lebowski
Sean of the Dead
Baseketball
Either of the Harold and Kumar movies
anything from Judd Apatow

If you are a bit adventurous, get the 4 season boxed set of Mr. Show. Funniest comedy series of all time IMHO

A great comedy can always brighten up Your day

Don't get me started with a list of actors or movies

This is a VERY short list of faves. I admit it. "old school". Anyways. I can see these over and over again.

As Good As It Gets (Jack Nicholson)

Action/comedy :
48 Hours
Die Hard
Lethal Weapon
Beverly Hills Cop
Exit Wounds

Four Weddings And A Funeral
Mickey Blue Eyes. Most movies feat. Hugh Grant are funny as...

Life Of Brian (Monty Python)
Clockwise (John Cleese)

Evolution (David Duchovny)
Gremlins

Manhattan (Woody Allen)

Arsenic And Old Lace (Gary Grant)
That's an old 40's classic.

Audio only. But at least it's something "new" : ATS live show. You will experience a real time, impulsive comedy show, as never heard before

My brand of humor is toilet humor, just moronic slapstick stuff. I like British humor, David Chapelle stuff. Light stereotype stuff as long as nobody is safe, men in drag... I try to look for that in movies.

I like visual humor, like the movie 'Hot Shots!' and Hot Shots part deux with Charlie Sheen. It's sort of a xenophobic movie maybe.

Toilet or sex humor, like Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo and Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo. The stuff just cracks me up.

Steve Martin is awesome. Planes, trains and automobiles, also featuring John Candy, is a "classic"
