Yes, I think you are making the right decision. I think you need to tell the US embassies and everyone else now before you leave. But don't stop being his friend...thats the last thing he needs. He isn't a healthy individual, he is sick and needs help. If he had cancer and told you would you hesitate to get him help then? He does need love and he does need someone to care...but sometimes love and doing whats best for the person you care about won't always make that person happy. But protect yourself also...he could be potentially dangerous to you as well. Good luck!
