They don't know how to use tazers in Oak Land? They should of stun him instead of shooting him. Don't any of you agree?

...per the link i provided, that was the intention (to use the taser) because grant was not cooperating (didnt want to be handcuffed)... grant moved one of his hands into or towards his waistband... the officer thought grant was going for a weapon... the officer mistook his own gun for his taser and shot grant in the back... witnesses said the officer looked shocked and raised his hands to his face several times...

There you have it. The officer and the witness can cite it was an accident killing. Well the officer was acting to fast and didn't know what he was grabbing. It's still sad. Yet I have to agree the officer wasn't acting on racism or trying to kill an innocent person.

...i have no idea what his opinions on racism are, so i cant agree with that part of your statement... the officer might have reacted differently if grant had been a white man or asian or hispanic or middle eastern - but - it doesnt matter cuz we'll never know...

...grant had been in prison, so he was no stranger to trouble, and he was fighting on the train that night prior being detained - so i couldnt say he's an innocent person... he might have been innocent of any wrong doing at the moment he was shot but i dont know that for sure either...

I doubt he acted on racism and would act differently if Grant was of different skin color. As well I don't know the law from county to county and state to state. I imagine cops would have to resort to shooting a person in self defense. The same with using a teaser or pepper spray.

It's America! What else would you expect? Can you imagine a hate crime on a White person receiving the same press? To many on the far left it would feel like the KKK has came back into power. CNN did one time report on a incident on a White person. I was glad to see a lot of people with common sense defending him and respect others.

Dozens Arrested In Oakland Following Mehserle Sentencing Protest

Why do people who are upset with authorities loot private businesses? Businesses that are owned by people who have nothing whatsoever to do with the criminal behavior by police and transit authorities. I never understand this behavior.

How else would you want to get notice for opposition of a incident? Non violent protest that would most likely go unnoticed in the MSM.

...its always been common practice for the media to note the race of a person, unless it is a white person or a celebrity and everyone already knows what they look like... thats just old white supremacy habits that havent died off yet... dont take that to mean that its done everytime but just that its done so much that most folks dont even notice it anymore...

Be violent against the offending parties! Do not be violent against innocent businesses.

If somebody punches you in a bar you do not get back at them by punching an innocent guy in the next booth.

Still! Would you take a second look at people destroy what not or a non violent protest out side the court room?

I look at people who destroy stuff and think they are stupid idiots who do not deserve to have nice things in their part of town. Even a dog will not # in it's own bed.

No! Say you were working in the news media and then you hear reports of the sentencing. Would you say things differently if there was a riot or a non violent protest?

You don't have to be a socialist to agree that justice was not done in this case.
Anyone who studies court and prison statistics can tell that our "justice system" has an economic and racial bias.

More importantly there is a "police bias".

Officers, regardless of colour, tend to get much lighter penalties for criminal offences.

Not right, just the way it is.

That is absolutely right. Recently here in Phoenix there was an officer who killed a kid as he was responding to a call for help from the child's mother. No charges were filed. It took weeks of protest from the Hispanic community before charges were brought on the officer. You have a civilian kill a policeman and immediately there are calls for the death penalty from the LEO community. You have a LEO kill a civilian and the coverup begins right away. Why does an officer have to kill someboy who is disordery or resisting arrest? If I do not come at you with a gun, then you have no right shooting me with a gun to kill me. If a deranged man is bungling around with a steak knife, shoot him in the arm, shoot him in the leg, tase him. But what usually ends up happening is fifteen cops open fire at once because, you know, they were being threatened by an armed man.
