Now, I'm not usually one to see shadows in MSM news, or to draw paranoia from current happenings.. but, as someone who closely followed Prop 19 and it's very close defeat, this piece of news coming out just two days after Prop 19 fails seems abit edgey to me.

Authorities discover 30 tons of pot, drug tunnel

Prop 19's failure to pass is actually the closet vote off in US History for legalization rights. The polls clearly show that the mindset of legalization is spreading, and gaining voices and momentum as it does. The strong show of support could have made some of TPTB ( DEA, ICE, other local and federal agencies ) nervous.. Which means its time for them to dip into their bag-o-tricks, and pull out a rabbit that they have been holding just for this occasion!

Tying drugs into the still standard "They took our jerbs!" and the fear of drug cartels in border towns ( Which California has ), all days after the people's voice is heard seems too conwinkydinky for me. If this is the case, then we as a people with a voice are doing something right if TPTB fear us so much to suddenly pull this story out. A bust of this scale had to have been in the planning for months also - did someone specifically plan this to conicide with Prop 19, no matter the outcome of the vote?

What do you guys think?

You can certainly bet that the lead investigator timed this, probably in coordination with the D.A. It's all about politics and public perception. How can the papers/public be upset with a bust that big if the voters JUST voted down the prop?

As Bush once said, it's like they just got a mandate.

They were obviously sitting on it waiting...

If it passes, we collect it and we sell it.
If it fails, we still collect it and imprison them.

This exact tactic was used during Cold War Era America to "flush out" communists from suburban American. Jane Doe would hear about a bust on the nightly news, then would start to think John Doe across the street was acting "shifty" due to the inflamed nature of the news and her own personal fears running amuck. She would then tell "The right people", and John Doe may be taken downtown for questioned. Since he's locked into a cycle of fear also, there is no telling what he may say.

It's a very old tactic that can be applied to many political and social areas of America.
