I got listening to old telly show theme tunes and found a few of my faves from years and years and years ago. Brought back a lot of memories.

This has got to be the best one ever in the history of all telly show tunes.

Some more old favourites.

there's a thread around where you'll find more of these. The greatest american hero theme song and welcome back from welcome back kotter are at the top of the list. Nothing compares.

Gotta include this one, talk about memories, watching classic trek was a daily ritual and even listening to it just now released numerous adolescent memories of good times. Even though I like NG and Voyager better, classic Trek is deeply ingrained forever.

There's a theme tune that truly bugs me because I can't find it anywhere and because I'm positive Nirvana pinched it for Come As You Are.
I might be wrong but every time I hear that Nirvana song I think of Ray Alan's ALI CAT. It was a puppet cat that appeared on his Magic Circle show in the 70s.

Anyone remember these cool tunes, or am I showing my age here?

That was ace! Cheers buddy!

While we are on the topic of cartoons remember this?

Got the pilot episode of this on VHS when I was a kid. Showed you how he first got his powers, and when he met the horse for the first time they beat the crap out each other in sort of an acceptance battle.

I despair for kids today they don't have this caliber of programming to watch!

Have you watched any of the crap they pettle to the kids these days? It saddens me..

I understand that its all brainwashing an advertising, but at least back then they TRIED to make an effort to hide it and delivered quality cartoons...

For fear of turning this into a cartoon only thread this will be the last animated intro I'll post

to wigit for this fun topic

Man I used to love Knightmare! Probably the hardest game show ever! Did anyone actually ever win?

I just watched this scene and it had me in fits of laughter. I have now been told off by the missus for laughing she is not impressed!

Lol, I vaguely remember that programme but that was hilarious. Absolutely useless, haha. I just pictured my sons doing that. When the boy fell down the hole they'd have had to stop filming till the giggles stopped. Dunno how the man kept a straight face.

I know its just brilliant, I love the sound effect as he falls in the hole!

Meathead I thought you might appreciate this comment on YouTube below the Knightmare intro;

morgansifer82
1 year ago 85 As much as dont want to sound like someone in my late twenties revelling in late 80s nostalgia (which is indeed what I am) producers really did put a lot more thought into children's TV twenty years ago than they do today. They treated us like small adults, fed our imaginations and never patronised us. These days children's TV (when you can find it on the terrestrial channels) is both purile and charmless, and certainly not memorable.

Couldn't have put it better myself.
