Its to bad most vid. games out there only feature SWAT, Delta Force. Why not Spetsnaz. Spetsnaz really needs more credit. Maybe a couter-terror website would have on online store to buy one.

Games and movies feature Americans above other nationalities because the USA is a bigger market. To achieve more sales in the bigger market of America, it is wise for developers to make the main characters American or a certain percentage of the market will not appreciate the game/movie as much. That is not an opinion but a fact. I think it is slowly changing somewhat, but not much.

This also has a lot to do with Americans not understanding the accents of even other western nations. I was flicking channels on TV once and came across Ripley's Believe It Or Not. They were interviewing an Australian breaking some record or something and actually SUBTITLED what he was saying. Hilarious.

What about Socom 2 it features the SAS and Spetnaz both in the game. One of the best modern combat online shooters IMHO

My brother has a lot of respect for the Spetznaz. He was in the RAF Regiment, all though they arn't considered 'Special forces' their role to protect airfields and other military bases from external assault both from the air and from the ground puts them in the 'specialist' category.

One of the training senarios is to counter the Spetznaz and other special forces who may infiltrate bases to sabotage them and the training they got was pretty hardcore due to the fact the enemy they would fight would be bloody good so the Regiment was trained in simply to find an kill the Spetznaz as quickly as possible.

Oohrah RAF Regiment! Sounds a lot like USAF's security forces. I got a few friends in that. Of course I poke fun at them for being fly-boys but they are 3 of the hardest SOBs I know, so it got my attention when they chose to join USAF security forces.

Nobody wants to answer the last question in my little game *buzzer sounds* too late! The answers are: Jessica Lynch does not fit because she DIDN'T DO ANYTHING! Look up the citation that John Basilone got on Iwo Jima and compare it to what Jessica Lynch got. Bassilones should sound something like "transported ammunition across enemy lines, repaired a disabled machine gun, and killed bou-cou Japs". Lynch's has a lot of "never gave up" and other vague language.
Daly and Butler each had 2 CMHs. Lucy Brewer never recieved an award for heroism, and may in fact be fictional. She is the legendary first woman Marine. She supposedly disguised herself as a man and manned the fighting tops of the USS Constitution. Marines however ADMIT that she may be fictional. I've heard no such admission from the Army regarding Lynch.
Jessica Lynch is further distinguished because the situation which gained her fame was the result of BAD CONDUCT (poor care of her weapon) which reflects the lax attitude of soldiers as compared to Marines, especially in reserve units. Realize that in the good old days of war at sea, even on pirate ships, poor care of a weapon was A FLOGGING OFFENSE. Jessica Lynch, by all rights, ought to be flogged. (she's just cute enough that I'll volunteer to do the flogging too).

Yeah, the RAF Regiment and USAF Security are both very similar in training and role. My brother had wings on his chest and they use the RAF ranking system and my brother was an Airman, they also have Gunners these guys specialise in both tracked and towed SAM and AAA battery operation. I believe the airman designation is the same in the USAF security? (Trivia: did you know the units in Stargate SG1 is based on the USAF Security Forces. Thats why they call them airman in the show)

Let's hear your story Army. Don't tell me you've actually graduated West Point already... I'm praying to every God I can name that you're a teenager who plans to go there someday.
If you reflect the attitude of the US Army's officers, then I would say we have an ignorant and high-strung force that's riding for a fall.

The Marines, from E-1 and up, who I know I couldn't trust to get us through a fire fight can be counted on one hand. You, on the other hand, Mr. West Point, would not be in charge if I were sending a detail to clean the head.

Yea i agree. Loosen up a bit WestPoint. We know the US has a great military and that, but there are other countries who are highly capable and can match it with the US in certain areas.

I think the poster and what it stands for ROCKS.

Sometimes I wish the US would jettison all the PC bullcrap and handle our enemies Russian-style...........

Heck, even Ole Vladimir himself can kick some a$$ if called upon (using his crazy Putin Fu). George W. probably would look like a deer in the headlights if confronted by an actual terrorist.
