Hurray, the Democratic brand of evil politician is out of power and we have voted in...
those same Republicans who were screwing up everything for 6 years before the Ds took power.
Yesterday, I stepped inside the voting booth hoping to have send a message to the government. To my dismay, when I stepped inside that voting booth, I
beheld a most disheartening sight; about eight lines of offices needing to be filled and only the two establishment parties to choose from in each
one.
I let out a groan as I looked upon the dismal sight before me, so loud that the election monitor checked on me to make sure I hadn't puked all over
the voting machine. (he even had a rag in hand to clean off the machine, so I guess its not an uncommon response. Note to self; remember to wear
gloves when you vote next time.)
Not one single 3rd party candidate to choose from.
I looked down the list of cookie cutter politicians, held my nose and did what most Americans do on election day; I chose the lesser of two evils.
So now our nation has switched from Evil brand D to Evil brand R; just as evil as the other guys but more appealing to at least half of the voting
masses. Maybe they learned their lesson after getting the boot last time but, who wants to lay odds on that?
Like I read in another
excellent thread Evil brand R seems to have trouble remembering
that this nation's capitol is in Washington DC, not Tel Aviv. Does anybody really think that the warmonging, privacy intruding and loose spending Evil
brand Rs are gonna turn a new leaf and make any really positive change for this country or do you think they will just slow the push towards socialism
while handing the country over to total corporate control?
With those idiots in charge for at least the next two years, I'm sure we can expect a full steam ahead approach to more and more intrusive national
security measures and I won't be surprised to find that we have troops on the ground in Iran by next summer.
You would think that I could bask in the glow of regime change for at least one day but frankly, the whole new regime makes my stomach feel queasy.
I've had a hollow feeling in the pit of my stomach ever since I walked away from the polling place yesterday.
Hurray for regime change.
