It good Pelosi is gone as speaker. She was one of the reasons things are as polarized as they are. Corrupt and vengeful as a politician. That being said, just because Republicans control the house now, things are not going to magically get better in the US. We are dealing with 40 years of bad fiscal policy now.

All the Republicans controlling the House is going to do is act like a huge wall for Obama. To conservatives they will think it limits the damage he could cause the US. To liberals they will think it blocks the progress they want. Either way you believe is fine. But neither Republicans or Democrats are a magical cure for the problems the US faces. Both caused them in the first place.

I see you conveniently left out the 2nd amendment.

And why would the 5th be gone, and the 21st? The 5th is the Democrat's favorite and the 21st lets them drink.

You're too funny.

reid cheated there is something not right in nevada

lolwut?

what did i get out of the deal?

pelosi's face will not be plastered all around the news and making idiotic statements like she has.

I'm sorry to break this to you, she'll probably be house minority leader...which means you'll still see her face plastered all around the news and she'll probably continue making idiotic statements. Much like Boehner has for the past few years.

what did i get out of the deal?

we got another speaker of the house

That, by general concensus here, won't be much better than the one we have now? That's something to be excited about?

Wonderful, the low voter turnout has resulted in an inactive government like we had in the late '90's. Full of useless and wasteful inquiries, hearings and total lack of legislative competence. Only to turn around and blame the failure of government on the democratic president and regain control in the next election cycle...which turned out so well for our country.

The Right LOVES the 2nd Amendment, and they don't care about anyone else's rights.

You mean like the one everyone had with the Dem running things?
Yeah, so much optimism.

We'll see if this guy can cause miracles, because if he is just an average human like all the other politicians, then he too will have to wade through the mud to try and make changes.

Just have to see if people are going to give him more of a break while he does, or blame him and call him infective.

It's all about timing.

I think you're confused, WUK was referring to the right, democrats have traditionally been considered the left.

I'm sure we'll see some crazy bills coming from the next congress though. Abolishing the department of education and whatnot.

Well, I stand corrected... sort of. Thank you.

Anyhow,...
I've been corrected my 2nd amendment query, but what about the others? And really, what about the 1st? Democrats are in favor of keeping church and government separate right? So does that not mean the government can't do anything against or in favor of religion, both forcing or keeping kids from praying in school? Oh wait, it's the Nanny state the Demo....

I'll shut up.

Fine.

1st Amendment.

The Right HATES the 1st Amendment because they don't want anyone to have freedom of Religion in this country, they want a total theocracy and a Christian only nation. Not to mention English Only laws they want to pass. The right hates the 1st Amendment more than they hate Obama.

3rd Amendment.

The Right wants to put soldiers EVERYWHERE, they would love to bring down martial law on the nation under the guise of "national security" and so they will get rid of the 3rd Amendment so that they can have armed security personnel in people's homes especially those they think are "questionable"

4th Amendment.

The Arizona law, do I have to say anything more?

5th Amendment.

The Right thinks that you are all guilty before being proven innocent. Just ask the Birthers.

6th Amendment.

The Right would love to just lock people away in places like GITMO for eternity without any trial at all.

7th Amendment.

The Right thinks that Juries are socialist.

8th Amendment.

Uh GITMO "Enhanced Interrogation techniques" ring a bell?

9th Amendment.

According to the Right. the States have all rights.

The rest of them. The right is stuck in the 18th Century and thinks anything after 1800 is some commie propaganda created by the Left.

Anyone who cares about personal freedom and the right to protect it should care about the 2nd amendment, Democrat, Republican, Communist or otherwise.

I honestly don't think you understand the right then if you think thats what they think. Would you like me to go amendment to amendment for you for my thoughts on the right's perspective of them?

I have a little hope to share with your enthusiasm. I hope that either:

1. With the Republicrat controlled House and the Demublican controlled Senate so little can ever get done that there is nothing but gridlock, which further erodes any credibility in the system (particularly during a "crisis" of sorts), or

2. That the Republicrat controlled House and the Demublican controlled Senate collude, conspire, and co-opt each other so much in an orgy of "bipartisanship" that the public realizes the the scenario of fornication is such that the citizenry are always in the barrel and we see a final (and enthusiastic) end to the 2-parties/1 coin system.

The House has the power to create a budget. While it doesn't really matter, the Senate may be the upper house, it is no more important than the House. Either way, I think it's nice that many people got passionate and involved, but neither party is the friend of the people. The illusion of choice has kept this country in check for a long time, as well as the coverage of hot button issues by the mass media, allowing for an inflammation of the left/right paradigm. Our two party system has been bought and paid for by MNCs. The class gap is widening and wealth is being consolidated at the top. There is too much going on for the average American to understand in their limited attention span during the election season. The only way this country is going to change is through education and activism. People need to take a vested interest in their government, since we inherited it from those who came before us, and it is our responsibility to pass it on in the same pristine condition. Sadly, we are failing in that charge.

When he says the "Right" I think he means Republicans.

He doesn't mean libertarian or LEGITIMATE conservative. The Republicans stick to pet issue freedoms, but eliminate all other freedoms just as he said. Republicans are big government and support the prison industrial complex.
