This is sad and a shocker to everyone in the surfing world. Hawaii's Andy Irons has died suddenly in a hotel room in Texas. The preliminary reports say he died from dengue fever he contracted in Puerto Rico.

Wow, what sad news!

I wonder if it was Dengue fever? That is usually an illness you can recover from, however it can cause very high fevers, and dehydration.

Such a sad loss for his family, my thoughts go out to them.

There is exact cause of his death is unknown. Out of respect for him and his family I not going to speculate. I found a sick video of him on youtube.
