ANKARA, Turkey (AP) - A Turkish news agency on Monday released a photograph of two missing Turkish workers squatting in front of heavily armed men, and said they were in the custody of insurgents in Iraq.
DUBAI (Reuters) - A group led by suspected al Qaeda operative Abu Musab al-Zarqawi freed three Turkish hostages it kidnapped this week and threatened to behead, Al Jazeera television said on Tuesday.
Another two Turkish men taken hostage in Iraq three weeks ago have told their families they are well and will return to Turkey within a week, Turkish media reported on Tuesday
Arab TV station Al Jazeera said the terrorists had freed them "for the sake of Muslims in Turkey".
Two more Turkish workers
Two other Turkish hostages were allowed to call their families to say they would be freed within a week after their company agreed to stop working for the U.S. military in Iraq, CNN-Turk television reported.
