Mysterious Sinkhole Opens In Germany

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/ae3f9accba0c.jpg[/atsimg]

An aerial view of a large crater that appeared in the early hours in the central German town of Schmalkalden, November 1, 2010. A huge crater measuring 30 by 40 metres (98 by 131 feet ) has opened up in the middle of a residential estate early in the morning on Monday, according to local police. No one was reported hurt in the incident.

Geologists find this sinkhole very mysterious as there are no major drains, mines, tunnels under the location of the sinkhole and have no idea what has caused this to open up.

I find it weird all this action with earthquakes, volcanos erupting, tsunamis, mysterious sinkholes opening up.
The Earth is changing, Interesting times indeed.

Cheers
Brady

I don't think so.
There wasn't any damage to the houses around the sinkhole, unless it's a new space-age type weapon

It's strange because of all the seismic activity lately.
Time will tell.

Damn, perfect aim indeed. This is very fishy.

Are there any other recent occurrences of this nature?

So how do these things work?

Where did all the soil dissappear to?

Is there a hole in the middle of that crator which leads down to a cavern and in the process sucked up all the soil?

I think this is the most recent one news.uk.msn.com...
Could be wrong though.

en.wikipedia.org...

Sounds like they form from the chemical dissolution of carbonate rocks.
Something along those lines.

In the last second of that film I saw a large drain grid, I think this was a main drain that has been leaking over time . What happens is you get a leak in the pipe and over time the water eroded a hole around the pipe. The eroded soil slowly drains away. Eventually the hole is so large the roof collapses and this is what you get IMO.

Maybe nibiru is getting closer and caused this.

You're not the only person wondering about this. Here's another ATS member that started a thread yesterday. I don't know if it covers this same sinkhole, but it does show interest in the subject.

They aren't that common, but they aren't that uncommon either, and they have various causes, like manmade caverns (like mines), natural caverns etc where it's pretty obvious how they can swallow up the soil when they collapse, There was one like this nearby where I live, and it was caused by a broken water main, the water running out of the water pipe washed all the soil away into the sewer system.

It may take a little time for them to figure out the cause of this one.

They are lucky it didn't swallow up any houses, it just missed some!

Ah come on ATSers! There have been several of these holes opening up in the past several months, can someone please make a thread about all the holes appearing in several different countries around the world?

My input would be Guatemala and San Francisco...
