G'Day ATS,

I've been thinking about the most recent "terror" alert that has hit the front pages this week. It's patently obvious to me what is going on.

Let me first draw your attention to this story from the BBC on Wednesday:

UK airlines back call for airport security changes

The UK airline industry has backed British Airways chairman Martin Broughton's call for changes to airport security checks.

Mike Carrivick, of BAR UK, which represents more than 80 airlines, said the industry should "step back and have a look at the whole situation".

The Department for Transport said there were no plans to change rules on checking laptops and shoes.

Mr Broughton said some "completely redundant" security checks should go.

Practices such as forcing passengers to take off their shoes should be abandoned, he added.

The chairman of British Airways had earlier stated that the ridiculous security at airports could be relaxed.

UK should not put up with US airport security – BA chairman

Britain should stop "kowtowing" to US demands over airport security, the chairman of British Airways, Martin Broughton, has said, adding that American airports did not implement some checks on their own internal flights.

He suggested the practice of forcing passengers on US-bound flights to take off their shoes and to have their laptops checked separately in security lines should be dropped, during a conference of UK airport operators in London.

There was no need to "kowtow to the Americans every time they wanted something done", said Broughton. "America does not do internally a lot of the things they demand that we do. We shouldn't stand for that. We should say 'we'll only do things which we consider to be essential and that you Americans also consider essential'."

The US doesn't want the world to cotton on to the fact that the War on Terror is a load of poo, so lo and behold within days of these suggestions....here we go again. Now they don't want to scare the public too much so that they stop flying altogether, so the "threat" is targeted at cargo planes. But for the masses who don't question anything this is just the kind of gentle reminder that we face a continued threat......

On the BBC this morning I saw John Reid (former Home Secretary) saying exactly that, this is a reminder that we face "a continuing threat of terror"....

Lets see European airlines get their more relaxed security now....not a snowball's chance in hell my friends.

All the best ATS, kiwi

Agreed.

100% worth.

Nothing else really needs to be added by me. It's what I was thinking yesterday.

We see it time and time again, when the populous starts to question and doubt, something like this will come along.

Remember the last attempt by a Nigerian man on flight 253 to Detroit:

Nigerian accused of attacking US passenger jet

Smoke and mirrors for the people.

felt creative, and it was sparked by the idea behind this thread,

so..

here you go,,,

bombs in inkjets in jets from UPS.
qualms with intrusiveness put to rest by this test.
its a one up to those who second guess,
the agenda of the press, is not to inform its to impress,
upon those who have stress, to buy more and think less,
and to repress ideas that dont mesh, while propogating
the lies they bless, and plans they think best,
while your pundant asks "questions",
the sheep get fleeced for their pensions,
and buy oil for their engines,
its depressing, manufactured wounds with field dressings,
you would of thought we learned our lesson,
whats the message that we're sending,
when we borrow what their lending,
the trampled flag is still worth defending, and mending,
I think its time we asked,
whose goal are we tending?

Why would the UK make security changes because they successfully prevented something?

Doesn't make sense to fix something that isn't broken.

Thanks, sometimes I just have these little creative spurts and every thought just seems to line up into a rhyme.

Thanks again for the positive remarks.
