Only 10% of the crowd Beck drew.....60K estimated for the two comedieans. Beck drew 600K

Non-Story in my opinion.

They draw from the 18-29 demographic which is fine. Just don't be fooled that real voters are in attendance.

This was great. Jon's speech was pretty damned good.

He was right to say that the only unreasonable people exist on the fringes, in Washington, and on the cable news circuit. This is a point I'd love to drive home to some.

I'm not worried about the draw.. it's the spirit of what they did today that I love. It feels good to see someone whose voice can be heard stand up for reason and logic. What I love about Jon Stewart is his ability show some of the irrationality that exists in politics and on the MSM and show it in a way that everyone gets and makes most people laugh. Jon is a comedic counter to all the crazy that is spewed by Washington and the corporate media.

600 000 for Beck? Not even Beck says that!
100k for the glenda is more like it.

So, you say 60000, Colbert said 150000. If reality is in the middle, it would be 105000.
Does it really hurt you so much that Colbert and Stewart drew as much as the Glenda?

Does it matter? I'm just glad Beck, the communist and socialist convention of 10/2/10 and the Restore Sanity and/or Fear rallies were able to happen at all.

God Bless the USA and all the freedoms we enjoy.

Yes, you are right.
I was just rather suprised when i turned in. Didn't think so many people would show up. Half the crowd and I would have thought "Wow"

Agreed however there is one of these groups [Becks] that wish to force there Religious views on us all and if you don't agree then your not a good American and this group also wishes to limit personal liberties and freedom to minority groups and women.

I bet this group is heavily supported by workers around the world, like in China, the Philippines, and India.....

Enjoy this freedom while you can, the party that has brought us free speech zones is coming to a bedroom near you...

it's not really freedom if you have to
file a permit to even have the rally.
They could say no and not issue the permit

is it then a freedom???

They had the rally cuz they were ALLOWED to.
Your freedom had nothing to do with it.

Freedom is NOT having to ask your
master's permission.

The park estimate/permit said 60,000. It sure looked like more to me. Coulda' been the camera angles etc .. but it sure looked bigger to me. Oh ... and beck didn't get 600,000. It was 300,000. Still .. that's a lot. As was said, I'm glad they both were able to hold their rallies. God bless America.

hmmm feed does not seem to be coming up when I try to look for it. I had a look at some videos on youtube, this one is comparable to the others. But then again it wouldn't have mattered about the amount as the march means nothing other than to counter the fringe tea parties. It would be more productive if people came out and made this about the government, if they came out and made a stand that while we do not agree with the tea parties and their world view, we agree that there needs to be reform (but not in much the same manner as conservativism).

John stewart can be a man of truth most of the time, but he's agenda behind the rally has muchado with government accountability as the tea parties do.

Wow, just amazing. Glenn Beck certainly has your wrapped around his finger hey?

MY guy is more popular and better than YOURS! Real productive, and we wonder why our government manages to get away with its actions year after year. People are just so distracted from playing the dividing game set up by the TV talking heads.

This rally only drew a fraction of the people who support it. I myself could not go to Washington today, but eagerly watch the tv coverage. You have to multiply the number of people who had the time and the means to get there by the number who would have liked to be there. Many of you would be surprised.

I, for one, applaud this effort to restore civility to our political discourse, which has degenerated into nothing more than a mud fight.

I notice the Coffee Party has heartily endorsed this rally. That's because they are sane.

Well since it was brought up, I thought these pictures would give the REAL numbers for the rallies.

Erm lulz ok on that comparison pic, not for nothing but today's rally was on the other side of the Mall near the Capitol Building.
You see the problem?

Here, the pics and vids linked at the bottom of the OP might help: www.abovetopsecret.com...

Looking for a skyview pic. Will post it if I can find one. The park estimation map can be used for numbers.
It looks like they were packed in pretty tight.

Was rather shocked by Stewarts speech.. I didn't expect him to deliver something like that.. And You can pretty much tell it came mostly from his heart, he wasn't reading it off a teleprompter, he wasn't looking at notes..

More pics will come out over the weekend, by Monday the crowd estimate I am sure, will be estimated at 340 million. 30 million more than were registered.

I see Ozzy was there. I am sure him and the Crazy Train restored lots of sanity.

Anyway, I hope everyone had fun. It was about what again?
