The MYTH that illegal immigrants ONLY have jobs Americans wont due is one of the most dangerous lies going.

The proof is in the construction industry where the union jobs are gone and the illegals have under-priced American workers out of the home construction market.

Not only that, all the illegals bring down the economic activity of communities by shipping their money to their homelands and not putting what they make back into the economic system of the community they line in.

I have been putting together different quotes on the importance of different things. Here are a few I have put together on the importance of knowledge and education. Those words from the past must never be lost. I think the last is the most important when talking about a NATION that stands together.

It is an object of vast magnitude that systems of education should be adopted and pursued which may not only diffuse a knowledge of the sciences but may implant in the minds of the American youth the principles of virtue and of liberty and inspire them with just and liberal ideas of government and with an inviolable attachment to their own country.
Noah Webster, On the Education of Youth in America

If Virtue & Knowledge are diffused among the People, they will never be enslav'd. This will be their great Security.
Samuel Adams, letter to James Warren, February 12, 1779

If men of wisdom and knowledge, of moderation and temperance, of patience, fortitude and perseverance, of sobriety and true republican simplicity of manners, of zeal for the honour of the Supreme Being and the welfare of the commonwealth; if men possessed of these other excellent qualities are chosen to fill the seats of government, we may expect that our affairs will rest on a solid and permanent foundation.
Samuel Adams, letter to Elbridge Gerry, November 27, 1780

It is the duty of parents to maintain their children decently, and according to their circumstances; to protect them according to the dictates of prudence; and to educate them according to the suggestions of a judicious and zealous regard for their usefulness, their respectability and happiness.
James Wilson, Lectures on Law, 1791

Illustrious examples are displayed to our view, that we may imitate as well as admire. Before we can be distinguished by the same honors, we must be distinguished by the same virtues. What are those virtues? They are chiefly the same virtues, which we have already seen to be descriptive of the American character — the love of liberty, and the love of law.
James Wilson, Of the Study of the Law in the United States, Circa 1790

In the formation of our constitution the wisdom of all ages is collected--the legislators are antiquity are consulted, as well as the opinions and interests of the millions who are concerned. It short, it is an empire of reason.
Noah Webster, An Examination into the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution, 1787

I am not a Virginian, but an American.
Patrick Henry, speech in the First Continental Congress, September 6, 1774

This is because Americans don't want to clean toilets and other dirty jobs that immigrants and refugees are more than willing to do.

See "Fast Food Nation" if you want an apt comparison of the American fast-food worker vs the Mexican meat-butcher.

Americans don't like doing the dirty, smelly, unsafe jobs and therefore, those jobs go to their Mexican counterparts.

Illegals are just the scapegoat du jour for the American sheeple.

A nation that looks for scapegoats is a nation that is always on the brink of collapse/fascism.

As a construction worker that had my business run into the ground because of companies that hire illegal workers, I say you are either blind, or a liar. Businesses that do underhanded business can afford to undercut the price so low, we would be LOSING money if we matched it. Honest workers have to pay taxes, workman's comp and liability insurance, for every worker on the book. Companies that have a bunch of people off the books, making 50 bucks a day, can easily undercut what it would cost an honest company and still be making a hefty profit.

That’s true, but we have already collapsed into virtual serfdom to the elite rich.

This immigration issue is without a doubt a bi-partisan issue for the elite—they want the illegal immigrants here to foster inner tension and division as well to create a new slave class, or extend the slave class in this country.

Recall Bush and Obama are both on the same side of this issue.

Anytime the Republican and Democratic leaders are on the same side of an issue IS PROOF THE ELITE IS PUSHING THE ISSUE.

Just like Obama and Bush were for the bailout and they both are on the same side in the patriot act and similar issues TELLS US THE ELITE WANTS THESE THINGS DONE, AND THEY WILL GET THEM DONE!

You don't need any studies!

Come with me tomorrow to southern California and I will take you personally to hundreds of businesses and warehouses where the majority of workers are illegals, and the vast majority of them can't speak any English.

Bring a camera, or cell phone and you wont get in, have no business there, you wont get in, but once inside you will clearly see what is going on.

In one warehouse in Torrance CA, I was personally in 3 weeks ago there was an alarm, and the only word I heard on the loudspeakers was "immigrations" ... everyone dropped what they were doing and scattered, some were replaced by office personnel, and those who scattered all had preplanned hiding places. For the most part this has gone on with little or no interference for a long time now.

In the extremely bad economy in California this is the only way many of these businesses can survive.. Or so they claim. and for the most part the state never bothers them, federal agencies do occasionally but they seem to have advanced warning and are rarely caught.

I've seen very similar things in many other states now as well, especially in Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, and the real shocker was Colorado, where it may be the worst. Among others...

Granted most of these jobs would be considered low paying jobs to Americans, but they are jobs and if they were made available to Americans with minimum pay and benefits many would be happy to take those jobs. Only immigrants will take these jobs and the risks for FAR less pay and no benefits.

And in this economy, and with as little enforcement of immigrations laws as there currently is, who can really blame these companies for doing this if they can get away with it?

It is like relocating your business to a third world country without actually having to relocate!

I read some of the thread, but not the whole thing.

As far as I did read,I never saw anyone mention that maybe those who employ Illegal aliens may be part of the problem.

A while back they WERE talking about clamping down, and made an example of someone, then it just faded away and I have heard very little mention of it since.

Let me say this again for those that do NOT seem to understand basic MATH.

Minimum amount of immigrants in the past 30 years.

60 million or two Canadas

Do you understand the numbers there people?

How would you attempt to destroy a country? Hmmm?

Bankrupt it? Allow unfettered immigration? Destroy it from the inside?

Maybe you folks should do a google on the communist plan that has been shown numerous times here on ATS.

It comes from a communist defector from the USSR. He brought with him documents of the plan. Amazingly enough, all of these things are laid out step by step.

But no, you people know what is best for the country right. Jeez please wake up.

Pat Buchanan is 100% right our cultures are being changed by a mass exodus from non-western nations to western nations. We are supposed to accommodate these new members of our society who still cling to a separate culture which is sometimes at odds with our own. We need to leave the rest of the world alone and lock up our borders to all non-western immigration.

History repeats itself, remember which side of the fence you were on once upon a time
But hey let's forget that and put up fences stopping people from getting what your grandfathers wanted!!
I don't think illegals or foreign born immigrants are going to stick you into reserves right?
I mean i'm sure you can them trust more than your grandfathers right?
Wow, how much does that say?

And what's wrong with a seperate culture?
If you didn't have influences from other cultures you would be eating nothing but salads and red meat everyday, and of course fast food

What is american culture really?
On the food side you can have foreign cuisine, it's quite common
But the culture of american cuisine has been completely and utterly been conveyer belted

Thank your lucky stars you had gotten foreigners come here!!!

Can you define the culture you speak of?

Funny, I can't ever remember being so split right down the middle in reading a response. I thought the top part with 60 million makes a great point, and really hits hard. So I gave you a star.

But the bottom part is epic fail. A communist plot? From a Russian defector?

Our biggest problem is with illegal immigration coming from Mexico. That is documented all over the place at anywhere from 75% to 82%. And Mexico is neither communist or Russian.

In fact Russian immigrants are so insignificant statistically, they failed to even get a mention in this Wiki article:

en.wikipedia.org...

There MIGHT be about 4 million people or so with hardcore Russian origins in this country today, from other things I have read. And if the communists were planning on taking over with that, they've got a long way to go.

Jobs leaving the country + tidal wave of immigrants coming in....

What part of that logic don't you get? It's not about cultural bigotry, it's about cultural preservation. A little bit of cultural spice is ok. Giving asylum to anyone from Mexico because they have a crappy country is not a viable option! Their social problems become our social problems and before it's all over we'll share the same fate as Mexico. We're busting at the seams here and everyone's saying "we let outsiders in before, it's only fair to continue." That's the same logic as learning you have liver disease but continuing to drink because it would be unfair to deprive yourself of something you've done for 20 years.

Salads come from Italy and Greece, Pastas come from Italy, Sausage comes from Germany, Biscuits come from England, Potatoes from Ireland, Wine from France, Pierogies from Poland. They are all Western cultures. Western Culture is our culture and we are a melting pot for all Western Cultures. America exemplifies the West as we support freedom, liberty, democracy, christianity, humanism, republicanism and property rights. That is our culture.

I would not be locking out my grandfathers as they came from Europe, Western societies with Western values. Assimilation of those groups is not difficult and there is no hostility with culture.

I also work in Construction and can attest to Contractors hiring " Under The Table " Illegal Workers and paying them Half what a US Citizen makes at the same Job . They do not Pay Taxes , do not Receive Workmans Comp , are Uninsureable and Unbonded , seldom Speak English , and sometimes work 50 to 60 Hrs a Week if asked by their Employer . This is just plain Wrong , and Strong Laws should be inacted to Punish Businesses that use these Undocumented Workers as a matter of Common Sense IMO .

The only reason immigrants take jobs such as you describe is because they will do so for less money, often even lower than minimum wage and under the table and employers go along with it.

You make the call, here is the list from the congressional record. Does it ALL look familiar to you?

www.rense.com...

1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.

2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.

3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.

4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.

5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.

6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.

7. Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.

8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev's promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N.

9. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.

10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.

11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.)

12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.

13. Do away with all loyalty oaths.

14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.

15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.

16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.

17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

18. Gain control of all student newspapers.

19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.

20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions.

21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.

22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms."

23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. "Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art."

24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.

25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.

26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."

27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a "religious crutch."

28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."

29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.

30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."

31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the "big picture." Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.

32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.

33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.

34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.

35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.

36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.

37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.

38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat].

39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.

40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.

41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.

42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use ["]united force["] to solve economic, political or social problems.

43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.

44. Internationalize the Panama Canal.

45. Repeal the Connally reservation so the United States cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction [over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction] over nations and individuals alike.

Hmmm, looks all familiar to me. How bout you?

Notice that last one? Hear about the US capitualating to being judged for human rights violations by the UN?

Okay, we've all been beating around the bush a bit and Misoir hit the nail on the head... sort of.

The problem isn't with any "culture." The problem is with education and living conditions. I'm going to step out on a limb and say it. Mexico is a third world cess pool of a country. There is no education and no real skilled jobs. We'd have the same problems if the immigrants were from Congo. It's all about expectation of the quality of life. It erodes the foundation of any established economy. Throw in the fact that most of them need and/or qualify for social programs and you've got an even bigger problem.

We've always been an iconic land for those countries with less. The only thing that has helped keep the floodgates from breaking before this was the distance/cost of traveling and the punishment from the deserters home country. Mexico doesn't help us in either aspect. In fact, it is a culminated Perfect Storm.

Have fun and the hole is deep here-www.globalresearch.ca...

Would you like to see the government funded layout of plans for global government by the use of the green movement and the agenda 21?

Just a little light reading.

Communism is the government ownership of all property. How is that coming along?

I don't have enough experience in all sectors of American employment to feel qualified to comment on the generalization that "immigrants are taking jobs from Americans" but as a worker in the IT industry for over 15 years I can honestly state the following:

Technology jobs are NOT being taken from Americans by immigrants. It's Americans that are giving technology jobs away to temporary foreign workers and offshore programs.

and that's all I'm going to say on the matter.

P.S. and NO. it's not because they're jobs that we don't want to do. (read: capital(corp)ism)
