A LAWYER claiming to represent Saddam Hussein urged the US-led coalition in Iraq to release him today, saying that handing him over to the new interim Iraqi government would violate international law.
news.com.au...

So I guess that means the U.S. will keep him then

No he will not.
The US and the Iraqis have said many times that he will be tried for his crimes by an Iraqi court.

With the hand over of power today, the Iraqis have legal possession of Saddam. They don't have physical possession as they don't have the security in place to hold him.

Just found this,
Saddam to remain under US guard
United States Secretary of State Colin Powell says former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein will remain in the physical custody of US forces for the foreseeable future.

His comments appear to contradict Iraqi interim Prime Minister Iyad Allawi who says Saddam will be moved to a new jail with Iraqi guards and limited support from the US-led military early next month.

The US will not just let Saddam go so easily. Unless he's been drugged out of his mind and brainwashed, he has way too many secrets to tell with regard to BushCo's operations.

He'll get the ol' Noriega treatment.

You mean they will place loudspeakers outside his room and blast rock and roll in his direction

Honestly, I wish a rogue Iraqi or someone would take the fall and just wack this guy and save us, and them from the trials and the BS. He needs dead.

Is'nt their some poor Kurd who lost his family to the chemical warefare attacks who has recently joined the Iraqi security forces who could just accidently sneak pass US guards and wack him hehe?

Accidental bomb drop? Missguided terrorist mortor shell? something...
Helcopter crashes into his cell room... Why is he (Saddam) still alive?
