It's not working against them, it's just not blatantly working exclusively for them as it always has. Tragic, I know; you poor things. Straight white males -- the forsaken, the misunderstood, the woes of their lives
.

...Isn't it strange how white straight males always end up at the winning end of everyone else's misfortunes? It must be because that's all the republicans find acceptable to appoint in the government. They all want the same thing, after all: money and control. It's what they all want, I promise, take it from me -- a gay guy -- it's the heterosexual agenda!

Bias for white people works against black people and bias for black people works against white people etc etc.

I don't sarcastically mock anyone who is harmed because of bias (regardless of their race, gender, or sexuality)... it seems that your sympathy depends on the victims race/gender/sexuality.

Then your observations are horrible. My sympathy depends on whether or not you have been through valid trials and discrimination. As a heterosexual, you have not. Fact. So please just stop making a fool of yourself.

But you would when applied to whites, males, and straight people?

By the way, women aren't a minority.

I am a "straight people".

No - - I think you are just looking for ways to put it in the "box" you want to put it in.

I'm black but I'm also honest enough to acknowledge the obvious - that bias against white people, and against males (and yes, bias against straight people) does occur.

I have seen white male friends of mine hurt by this bias, and black people benefit from it unfarily.

Bias against ANYONE should NEVER be mocked. Being sarcastic about it, or pretending only certain groups of people have suffered from bias, is IGNORANT.

It is also IGNORANT that gay people keep comparing thier "plight" to what black people went through in this country. It's a PATHETIC comparison, that only an absurd drama queen would make.

It is ignorant because gay people can do everything that straight people can do.

The same thing? I must have missed the gay slaves, segregated schools for gays, special water fountains for gays, gays not being allowed to own anything, gays not being allowed to vote etc. etc. etc.

Like I said, it's an obnoxious comparison that only a drama queen would ever think to make.

The excuse to treat Black People as a slave race - - once again comes from Religion. In the Mark of Ham. As we all know - - most slavery was in the Southern Bible Belt. (of course the real root was economics).

CIVIL RIGHTS IS CIVIL RIGHTS - - PERIOD! I am not talking about Extent or Degrees of abuse.

But denying full equal rights to a minority - - whether - skin color - gender - or sexual orientation - - is EXACTLY the same thing.

You're right, because pre 1969 we didn't even bother pretending that gay people had rights, we just threw them in jail for life or killed them. Surely they were treated much more fairly than black people. Surely SB knows what he's talking about for once in ATS history

Now THAT is ignorant. A simple Google search would show that in most states, Gay people CANNOT marry the person they love, and in five states it is ILLEGAL for Gay's to adopt, and it is ambiguous in more than half of the remaining states. While many cities have laws banning discrimination based on sexual orientation, a majority of the country does not.

To be blatantly honest, I am shocked that you, as an African American, are using many of the same arguments that the white establishment used before the civil rights movement in regards to racial segregation in schools (seperate but equal), in regards to interracial marriage (you can marry any woman you want, as long as she's the same color), and afterwards to cry foul concerning Affirmative Action, which got rid of the 'white boys only' hiring practices. But you seem to be all in favor of a 'straight folks only' hiring practice... How quickly they forget...

Just like African Americans did in the 60's and the 70's, we don't want special rights, just equal rights... And the fact that someone who is benefiting from a similar movement would stand there and take on the same role that the white establishment did against African Americans not so long ago (within my lifetime) is simply disgusting... Congratulations, you have become that which your forebearers fought so hard to strike down...

You were treated much more fairly than black people. If you're thinking of sodomy laws, those applied to everyone.

"The Gay Rights Movement is rooted in the so-called Stonewall riots, marking the first major attempt of gays to organize themselves and to resist discrimination. In the summer of 1969 policemen in New York started to raid unlicensed bars, resulting in closings of five gay bars with minor street disturbances. The Stonewall Inn, an unlicensed and Mafia-operated bar in Greenwich Village, was raided by nine policemen in the early mornings of June 28th 1969. As the policemen arrested and escorted five employees and customers, they faced an unexpectedly angry and violent mob outside the Stonewall Inn, yelling, throwing coins, rocks, beer bottles, and bricks at the policemen. During the following forty-five minutes, the nine policemen were involved in a violent struggle, in which the protesters were beaten by policemen, and in which the crowd tried to set the bar with the policemen inside on fire. As police reinforcement arrived, the crowd which had already rose to about 400 angry protesters, finally spread out, but re-gathered for two additional nights around the then-closed Stonewall Inn to protest against the police's discrimination of gay bars, shouting slogans like "Gay Power", "Legalize gay bars", and "Gay is good."

www.enderminh.com...

So... the police raided an unlicensed mafia bar that happened to be gay and the patrons tried to set fire to the police and screamed "Gay is good."

How inspiring.

HAHAHAHA! Is that a challenge? Alright, you count all of the heterosexual discrimination in the world by Western influence and I'lll count all of the homosexual discrimination by Western influence. Meet back here when you're done.... I warn you though... I won't be back for several years... and you'll likely be sitting here through all of them with your pathetic "We dont have a parade
" argument that I've seen you regurgitate in other threads
.

Right, "sodomy laws". AKA prevention of homosexual intercourse. AKA suppressing gay emotional expression. Heterosexual agenda of ignorance.

I'm refusing to read the rest of your post because I'll never get those precious minutes of my life back and I'm more than sure that I've heard all of that nonsense hundreds of times from a hundred different people of equally disappointing IQ levels for Western society. What I see is that your argument is "Black people had it worse than gay people because black people were actually allowed to exist", therefore I do not have to give you any respect because what you are saying is completely one-sided, ignorant rubbish.

And... you've still listed exactly zero things that straights can do that gays can't.

I've never complained about not having a parade LOL I've mocked the entire idea of having a parade to celebrate who makes someone horny... the whole notion is completely self-absorbed and absurd.

I'd rather celebrate veterans, firefighters, kids, old cars, boy scouts, girl scouts and little league teams.

Sodomy should still be against the law and it has nothing to do with gays.

It should be considered an assault and a public health hazard. It spreads disease like wildfire and it injures the "recipient." The anus was not designed to have things shoved into it.

I'd be happy to be your Gay Rights and Equality professor for $1800 a semester.

Welcome to capitalism. You're a big boy, do your own research if you're incapable of attending a pride event to get your knowledge you're going to have to pay someone to educate you. Here's a few to get you started since I know your prepubescent tendencies and you won't stop going on about it. Hopefully this isn't enabling your codependent thought processing:

Given top billing at the event hosted by the FLN was Scott Lively, president of Abiding Truth Ministries, an American conservative Christian group from California, and a Holocaust revisionist whose controversial book The Pink Swastika names homosexuals as “the true inventors of Nazism and the guiding force behind many Nazi atrocities.”

Surely you agree that the way to combat this "Nazism" is by segregating an entire section of people we have labeled and doing this?

(CNN) -- A Ugandan newspaper published a story featuring a list of the nation's "top" gays and lesbians with their photos and addresses, angering activists who say the already marginalized group risks facing further attacks.

Earlier this month, Rolling Stone newspaper -- not affiliated with the U.S. magazine with the same name -- featured 100 pictures of Uganda's gays and lesbians. Next to the list was a yellow strip with the words "hang them."

Oh, by the way....

After a 16-month investigation, during which he interviewed scores of witnesses in Uganda, Kenya and Nigeria, Mr Kaoma concluded that Africa’s anti-gay crackdowns are, at least in part, “made in the USA”.

Source

Ah.... I now see this sexual equality in the world. How convenient for you, oh wise procreator, knower of all things sexually moral, and why wouldn't you know? Being #1 child and woman rape statistic in the world. Surely YOUR sexual orientation is at the top of this sexual orientational pyramid that you have created... how convenient that you are right at the top of this pyramid and you can conjur up enough support from other fascist sacks of garbage to segregate people based on labels and commit genocide.... then go around calling other people Nazis!

Sieg frickin' Hiel.

Sodomy should still be against the law and it has nothing to do with gays.

....sigh.....
....Really?
....Here come the experts on homosexuality.... using the word "gay" as a noun like the brilliant products of educated society that they are.

It should be considered an assault and a public health hazard. It spreads disease like wildfire and it injures the "recipient." The anus was not designed to have things shoved into it.

Your argument is that PRIVATE, NONCONTAGIOUS AFFAIRS should be considered PUBLIC HEALTH ISSUES?

So alcohol and cars should also be illegal?

Oral sex? Surely the mouth was designed not as a sexual instrument...

It is your choice to engage in "sodomy", nobody who is forcing you to engage in sodomy is doing so legally.

Seriously, take your Straw Man argument to some impressionable offspring like the priests once did to you, the developed minds here will not fall subject to your self-centered, blatantly ignorant heterosexual agenda.

I'm quite done with this ignorant, juvenile bull for now.

Did you see me glorifying that? No you didn't. The incident I posted is cited as the start of the gay rights movement, the DC riots were not the start of any movement.

Nice use of stereotyping by the way... tho thilly hehehe!

Those riots were in response to the assasination of MLK (who I think would have condemned those people for rioting, as do I).
