A New Warning Suggestion

I have a small suggestion that may help lighten the burden on many, many threads
if it were implemented and enforced.

A "Religious Trolling" Warning.

As we have a "Political Trolling" warning,
why not also a "Religious Trolling" one,
as there are many, many members who only
enter Religious threads, or any kind of (attempted)
intelligent theological conversation to be devisive, rude,
inflammatory, and jerkoffs.

We have committed atheists who pretend to be Jews and then bash
Christians with Jewish websites and Jewish Holocaust shtick, only to go
on another day and slam Jewish people with Buddism.

We have Christians who pretend to be Jews just to get a fight started in a thread.

We have Christians who try to turn Jews to Jesus and insult them bitterly.

We have Christians who insult atheists in a very mocking way.

We have atheists who are commited to hate on any religion in any mocking, hate mongering fashion.

They, and many others' rude, argumentative, nonhelpful posts quickly lead threads into
a too long heap of trash, difficult to pan through, trying to discern any intelligent conversation.

Also, I have seen where a seemingly non religious no way connected to anything church wise thread is turned many times into a religious fight by these "Religious Trolls".

If they received the same dual penalties as political trolling received, perhaps everyone would think twice before
being rude, hateful, demeaning jerks, and spamming threads in the name of Allah, God, Yahweh, the Marlboro Man, Buddah, JC, Jesus, the Christ, or whatever you do (or do NOT) worship.

Respectfully submitted,

Hey, I am all up for being labeled as such too by the mods.

It would surely level the field, eh?
EDIT to add: You are a rude, insensitive jerk that has been on my friends list....

Firstly, I'm not aware of any of the iter-site politics or any ATS members this post seems like it may be directed towards. Even before I signed up on the site, when I lurked through the boards I never paid attention to religious debates/talks/fights/debates/etc.

However, one of the reasons I actively avoid such topics is largely due to the fact that in my experience discussions on theological topics are extremely personal to people, and feelings can get hurt very easily. People get defensive, and the blame game can start.

If political trolling isn't tolerated, why doesn't the trolling umbrella extend over religious trolling as well? If anything, people are just as passionate about religious beliefs as they are political - if not more. Shouldn't comments and posts made with the apparent intend to incite anger not be tolerated?

As a relatively new member of ATS I would hope that other fellow members would do their best to try and maintain an environment that is respectful of others' varying and even contradictory opinions - regardless of how difficult it is.

Agreeing with somebody and respecting them (or at least pretending to) to the best of your ability are two very different things. You can still debate and argue sensitive topics without being disrespectful, right?

I apologize if I'm out of line, or if I'm missing some vital rule.

__________

I've notice a influx over the
last few weeks, ever since the ADL put ATS on their
watch list. ( relating to political conspiracies)
Freedom to discussing conspiracies should not be compromised;
however your right, the moronic mongering as
" my God is better than your God, or
because God says so" etc., does not belong on ATS.

Seriously, I just want to be able to read through these threads
(and also hopefully prevent people from completely derailing
threads that aren't even religious in nature) by suggesting a
stern warning to these people that have nothing but hatred and
havoc in mind when they enter into these threads. I know that if
I had the possibility of a two warning penalty leading up to a ban on
the weight of a single post, I would be darn careful what I wrote.
