It makes a cute little joke about what you didn't notice that you wish you had as a child but for people to put serious thought into this kind of makes me sad.

I think I can safely guarantee that Bert and Ernie have never once even had sex with each other.
The sleep in tiny seperate beds, neither of which has room for an amorous encounter between two or more.
They have no genitalia.
They are puppets.

Is this an agenda? I am sure Xians would say so, and other religious fanatics, but I see it more as a nod to a part of our society that is upheld to all the rules (taxes, must follow laws etc) yet is the only taxed segment that is denied a union in which tax benefits are definitely given. Hmm.

Anyway Kudos to SS for having this enduring gay couple on their show all these years.
