You have it wrong.

We can't be a nation based on production in a global economy with cheap labor. We have to rely on consumption. This is just reality.

Too many people think that these jobs will return but that makes no sense. These jobs are gone and we have to realize that we are operating under a different paradigm in a Global Economy with Cheap Labor.

Entrepreneurs will create jobs and people will switch to service sector jobs and are manufacturing base will shrink. We can pout all we want to but this is reality.

There's nothing wrong with this if we had a small and limited Government.

there is everything wrong with importation of goods and services that means americans are not providing them and if they are not providing them that are not creating wealth and if they arent not creating wealth they are not contributing to the economy which means a entire tax base lost.

im sorry but linking clinton and bringing him into this conversation is moot clinton did more harm than anyone and essentially rode the coattailes of reagan.

what we as misoir and mnemeth1 have said is the truth

small government means ending the federal reserve which means the wealth destruction created from it has created the problems of this country

your are right we dont need massive government and massive debt

what we need to do is diminish the power of said government and we need massive revitalization of business and industry.

calvin coolidge said it best " americas business is business" adlibbed by me the real quote is this.

After all, the chief business of the American people is business. They are profoundly concerned with producing, buying, selling, investing and prospering in the world. Calvin Coolidge

things that as a nation of consumption dont do and this is why we are so screwed right now.

end importation and institute the means of production and create the conditions that use to be existent in this country.

there are alot of people a hell of alot smarter than me and can make better arguements all day long but i see the flaw in this arguement here.

the facts remian we are a nation of consumption and that is what is killing this country.

This is the problem with Americans. You said:

there is everything wrong with importation of goods and services that means americans are not providing them and if they are not providing them that are not creating wealth and if they arent not creating wealth they are not contributing to the economy which means a entire tax base lost.

This doesn't make any sense in light of the fact that we're in a global economy with cheap labor. We can't go back to producing these goods because of cheap labor. Atlanta is not just competing with Miami for jobs. Workers in Atlanta and Miami have to compete with India, China, Mexico and more.

So we can't have this pie in the sky attitude about production.

We will build our wealth through consumption and we will have credit and money flowing through the economy if we have a small and limited government.

We will have more entrepreneurs and we will own more businesses that operate in the global economy.

There's no way that we can return to a production based economy because we're in a global economy with cheap labor.

Production is not the only way to create wealth. We would be sitting pretty if we had a 13 trillion dollar GDP and a 5-7 trillion dollar debt. The problem is simple, it's big government. We wouldn't have these problems if we had a small and limited government.

I bring up Clinton because it wasn't about big government and the economy was booming. Poverty was lowered, unemployment was low, people were buying houses and more. I made some good money during those years. If we keep a small government, we will be better than fine. This is because production will be hit because of cheap labor.

We also can't cry about fair trade. Other countries will not give up their advantage just so we can compete. So we have to adjust and stop whining about production because that train has left the station.
