Police in Skåne express that they are almost destitute in the hunt for gunman who ravage the sydsvenske city. At a press conference on Monday said the chief investigator Börje Sjöholm that they believe the same man is behind at least 19 of the unsolved shooting incidents that have occurred in Malmo last year.
Charged with the murders and seven attempted murder is the 38-year-old Swede, now in police custody until his imprisonment that must be filed within 12 o'clock Tuesday.
The lone man police believe has terrorized the sydsvenske city for over a year, has lived here almost all his life. He grew up with his mother and seven years older sister, after his parents divorced in the 1970s. His father later moved to the United States, the accused moved in 1996, but returned to Sweden after three years.
In the U.S., he spent time on carpentry, and the music-man sat like a long time for his father's porch and painted bass guitar he made himself . Back in Sweden he has in the past year has been on sick leave from his job as an assistant in a dental technician. He spent much of the day to repair bikes in the basement where he lives, and lived a seemingly secluded life.

The descriptions are based on information from the accused's father (71), former employer, colleague in the shooting club and neighbors.

Saturday, he was put in irons by the Malmö police , reportedly for more tips from the public. He was taken home in the stairwell of a block of flats in one of the nicer areas. He was quite calm, and made no resistance, said neighbors. In police interviews he refused to stand behind the serious events he is referring to.
In the days before this, neighbors have seen him leave the apartment at odd hours, according to several. Sometimes he rode away, other times he took the car, the AP reported.

AP has been in contact with two of them that sit in the housing cooperative's board of directors. They say that the man did little out of it, but that he used to meet up in voluntary work.
- We have tried to save money to bring down costs, and then he has been involved in painting and some different stuff. He was quite active in the association, and had some views on how we should improve on diverse, says one of them.
38-year-old bought the apartment four years ago and lived there until police arrested him Saturday night.
- He was a little different, but definitely not aggressive. I used to talk to him, I met him maybe five times in the past two years. He then told me that he had lived in the United States and that he had worked as a dental assistant, said a board member.
Relieved, but not safe
After his arrest Saturday night, police have received more positive feedback that people feel safer already. Several of the victims said to AP that they are relieved. While they dare not relax completely until they are confident that the accused is actually the perpetrator.
Among the victims are serieskytterens Trez West Persson (20). Her mother, Jeanette believes it is premature to conclude, and thus too early to comment on the arrest.
- It can take several months before the matter is fully investigated, "said acting chief of police in Malmo, Åsa Palmqvist, at a press conference Monday.
