Tea Party activists have fumed at accusations of intolerance and racism, insisting their concerns about President Barack Obama are policy-oriented. Yet dozens of Tea Party groups have openly admitted to the Washington Post that the president's race is a factor in their activism.

n a lengthy investigation into the fledgling political movement that has made tremendous waves nationally, Amy Gardner reported that the Post identified more than 1,400 Tea Party groups across the nation and spoke extensively with 647 of them about their philosophies and ambitions.

"Eleven percent said that Obama's race, religion or ethnic background was either a 'very important' or 'somewhat important' factor in the support their group has received," the Post concluded.

I actually think 11% is a conservative figure but I also believe that race plays a part in most political movements, black, white, brown, yellow or mauve. A natural classification medium in a still largely tribal society. America is in no way "color blind" but has made exemplary strides in combating discrimination in for all practical purposes in a few short years. That's why even the relatively low numbers in the TPM is unacceptable, though understandable.

If race is truly a factor it is due to the constant race baiting that has occurred since day one by this administration and its primary backers in the MSM and in Hollywood. Anyone who dared question the man's motives or policies was labeled a racist by default. Plenty of old ATS threads that were full of this bunk. The man never gave himself a chance to do great things.

Obama and his inner circle have actually driven the wedge and done their best to dredge up these feelings and Obama has squandered the greatest opportunity ever bestowed on a man who would be the first Black President of this nation. His actions in office have been completely opposite of the rhetoric that he preached on the campaign trail to get himself into the White House.

He finger points, names names, belittles those who oppose him and simply cannot handle his critics in a professional manner becoming the POTUS. If he would ever be man enough to rise ABOVE the fray, the nation would certainly follow him. He would rather play a game of Middle School playground politics.

The only race factor at play here is that people chose the wrong Black man for the job.

From your comment that you linked whaaa.

"Eleven percent said that Obama's race, religion or ethnic background was either a 'very important' or 'somewhat important' factor in the support their group has received," the Post concluded.

I have a question, was it from 11% or did the Post conclude this number?

Sounds kinda like spin to me. Now, what exactly was the race component? Was it the fact that the leftist media targeting the Tea Party because of the supposed "racist" nature of the Tea Party movement?

Kinda sounds like another National Association for the Advancement of Communists and Progressives smear piece again to me.

Bringing that up, have you seen this?

St Louis Tea Party vs National Association for the Advancement of Communists and Progressives

If you ask me, the Tea Party does have a problem with race, the use of it to divide the country for the purpose of implementing socialist and communist endeavors.

We all know that the TEA Party is a Conservative populist anger funded and flamed by corporations and the GOP. What they don't want you to know though is what T.E.A. actually stands for, it is very sinister and would drive everyone away if they really knew.

Terrorist
Evangelicals
for
Aristocracy

Doesn't sound very attractive does it??

Ah man, people are still dragging out the racist tea party jibberish? I thought this was laid to rest once and for all. This is irrelevant news and it doesn't look like it's backed up by much to me IMO. The racist label hasn't stuck and will not stick so it's time for the far left to make up new lies about the dissenters.

I don't think anyone needs to stoop as low as to talk about race when Obama has shown so much immaturity misusing and abusing power he lied to obtain.

Obama is a coward. Always has been always will be.

Please, This is a made up number by the Washington Post... Do they even consider themselves journalist at this point? are the racist in the Tea Party, I would say most likely, but I'm sure there are just as many in the Democratic camp. there are no facts to support this story, and I doubt they did any real polling on the issue, so It leads me to believe, it is just crap...
