I am trying to find out what kind of seismometer this is, which was posted by PuterMan. If this is above ground, then this could be wind noise, and there are alerts for strong winds from the Iceland met Office.

But keep in mind this has a 5 Hz lowpass filter, meaning than anything OVER 5 Hz is filtered out. Even if this is above ground, this webicorder has been steadily rising like whoa and is now almost saturating out at these very low frequencies:

It is now reaching near total saturation. Check link. However, wind noise could possibly cause this if the sensitivity of the seismo is set real high, which I think it might be (SPS 100).... Not sure...PuterMan, where you be....

Shows it's on the rise slightly, but nothing extreme...

PuterMan might be with IBM and their new hard drive Earthquake predictor.

I wouldn't worry about it True.

There's tons of scientists who get paid to keep an eye on these things.

Java on the other hand does seem like it's about to have a big blow out soon.

I pretty much agree it is probably wind, but I just want to be sure that is not a borehole seismo- in other words, down 300 feet in a drilled hole, like many are. Cause if it is, that ain't no wind noise.

With all that massive energy build-up from the south east tip where there was a swarm of quakes Sat-Mon (today), that is probably lava moving into Iceland deep underground (lava tubes)...

Katla could go next... (anywhere from this week till.. hell, years from now). Keep an eye on it.
It's rare to see 'stars' on that quake map too.. was quite surprised to see more than 4 in one day. That is significant.

Now if this next plot were lowering, I would concede totally to wind and let it go, but it is rising, and this is the "tremor" plot near Hekla from the Iceland Met Office:

And since I can't seem to get an answer from PuterMan (he may not know whether it is above ground or borehole- that information is often not readily available), this thread is not resolved yet.

Coming out the the Iceland Met Office
