Hi all, i've just been looking over Google Moon, i've not used it much before as there doesn't seem to be much to look at (correct me if i'm wrong), but i did come across what appears to be something standing upright on a platform.

Now i'm well aware that it is more likely a rock formation standing upright on a flat rock formation. I just wanted a better opinion that mine. I know very little if anything about moon structures apart from what i read here, so any help would be appreciated.

Heres the picture....i saved this pic at elev:-4978ft The co-ordinates....if i've done them correctly are...

26 15 52 05 N

7 48 04 53 W

The co-ordinate show different on the image, but the ones i wrote are what i read from the bottom of the screen.



I've used my legendary Paint skills to highlight "P"..the platform rock, and "T"..the tower rock.

Maybe someone here knows how to play about with it and see it clearer, i'm afraid i'm useless at that kind of thing. The shape did look a little clearer when i changed the colour in MS Picture Manager though.

Like i say, i know nothing about these things, so if i've discovered a rock, then tell me to shut up and go to bed.

Could be the shadow of something maybe?

Could you maybe circle the object in question. I only see a large shadow which i assume would be cast off a large cliff. or are you looking at the small object in the middle?

Sorry, should have cropped it....it's bang in the middle, its like a flat light coloured square of rock with a dark long thing (rock/shadow) that appears to be standing on it.

We would never know from this image.

No matter how much manipulation is done to it..
it will still just be a blurry spot in a poor image.

We could sit and speculate for a month,
and would get no further than where we are now.

No one can say whether it is a rock or anything else..
it is impossible to tell.

Go study some old moon photos , actual photos,
not google moon stuff.

You will find far more interesting things in those than you will on google moon.

Good to keep your eyes open,
no mater the outcome.

I am certain there are buildings and other 'un-natural' structures up there on Lunas surface,
But these kind of images do nothing for us as a whole.

Thanks for the advice, will go seek out some decent pics.

I wasn't looking for formations by the way, ireckon any that are up there will have already been found by the more expert amateur astonomers here and elsewhere. I was just having a look around and saw this.

Thought i'd ask the pro's here.
