Well, I thought NPR was a non partisan news organization?
Whoda thought?

Here is a link to the discussions at NPR to get THEIR viewpoint on the Juan Williams debacle.

NPR's firing of Juan Williams was poorly handled.

Interpreting the leftist spin-We should have done this AFTER the elections and done it with better PR so that we would not look like propagandists which we are.

NPR CEO Apologizes For 'Psychiatrist' Remark

Interpreting this article-The CEO should have hidden her REAL thoughts and not let the standard dispersions, slip out their mouths at every opportunity.

The utter collapse of the leftist biased media's veil of non bias, is coming to a staggering climax. Wonder if they do not see it yet?

edit to add-If you think that the people have not woken to the veil of lies that IS LIBERAL MEDIA, just read the article's comments.

NPR is one outlet of "the controlled left". Yes, they slant left, but in the end, they only slant so far, and don't even bring up the subjects that matter. The same can be said for any right wing radio organization. Corporate and/or government control = corporate and/or government "reality". When I hear one of these stations bring up the fact that the US is a bankrupt corporation owned by mostly foreign bankers, that the law practiced in the courts of this country are not based on The Constitution or Common Law, but by the Uniform Commercial Code, that the ruling class has been caught time and time again committing crimes that would land me in jail for life, yet they not only walk free, but continue to rule, that there is a mountain of evidence being ignored re: 9/11, that every federal regulatory body is run by people who actually work for the industry that they are supposed to regulate---then maybe I'll care what any of them have to say. Until then, the only reason to listen to NPR or any other mainstream outlet, is to find out what is NOT being reported on.

again, i there some kind of political-spectrum primer-thread available for everyone to reference?

All this talk of 'far left' and 'far right' from a personal perspective, and not a subjective one.

sheesh

Did you watch the video?
Did you read the two articles linked?
Did you read any of the comments to those articles?

Just wondering. If you really need to know what left and right is, think of socialism/communism/fascism of the totalitarian scale as the left and anarchy/libertarians as the right.

The TRUE left/right, not the false left/right that the government, media and talking heads always espouse.

You know what I am talking about, tyrants vs freedom lovers. Where you get the individual freedoms and responsibilities vs the nanny state, where the elites know what is better for you at breakfast time.

NPR is a very flat organization, that stays surprisingly apolitical in these times of grandstanding smuttish absurdity. They discuss issues in a rational manner. The only bias is a slightly humanist perspective (like doctors without borders and such, but radio), and this should be commended, not ridiculed.

"I spoke hastily and I apologize to Juan and others for my thoughtless remark."

no she didnt she knew exactly what she was doing all liberals do when they have nothing of substance they always always go personal much like they do on this site.

Schiller said Williams' firing is not a reflection of his comments (on Fox News Channel) that he gets nervous when he sees people in Muslim garb on an airplane. She said she has no problem with people taking controversial positions, but that such opinions should not come from NPR reporters or news analysts. Williams, Schiller said, is a news analyst, not a commentator or columnist. And, she said the firing came after "several cases'' of Williams veering from journalistic ethics

yes they were and just how ethical is it to take a potshot at a guy she fired over the phone.

megan kelly use to be a lawyer had this take: juan williams had worked for fox and npr years and those supposed "ethical violations" had occurred a multitude of times and it was not a problem until then which makes proves to me juans firing was indeed just and excuse to get rid of him.

add the funding from george soros of 1.5 million dollars and you can see the pattern that the left and npr sell their souls and deny freedom of speech to anyone who doesnt believe the things they do.

this is the real face of npr and the left and noone can deny it freedom of speech means nothing to them the only freedom of speech that matters is theirs.

defund npr and the cpb and pbs tax dollars should not be going to shove a liberal viewpoint down the throats of americans and american children at taxpayer expense.

Really, they are just great huh?

How bout someone wishing someone to get AIDS? How bout someone wishing someone's grandchildren getting AIDS?

What a joke. Did you even watch the video? Did you even read the articles or the comments?

All you got is opinion, I guess everyone has one of those. If it is based upon reality it actually might mean something. If it is based upon group think or fear driven silence of alternate theories, not so much.

Here, a little Indoctrinate U for ya.

edit to add-Wanna know how to keep your job at NPR?

If you do not want to get fired from NPR, do the following: -Get arrested -Use a fake, photoshopped picture of Sarah Palin as a real photo on your news show -Express your opinion to close Guantanamo bay (if you say it should stay open, you could be fired) -Wish that a Senator you disagree with gets AIDS -Imply that someone you disagree with is crazy and needs to speak with their psychiatrist

Why are you treating Noam Chomsky like some big government twit? While he's shown support for individual actions taken by some socialist countries, the guys a social libertarian and rather anti-authoritarian.
