We aren't as far away from it as you'd think.

One of my German ancestors was put to the fire, but her husband paid for the fire to be botched. The rest of her family was burnt alive. There are no people of that last name who live in that area of Germany, so apparently it is very effective as a means of extermination.

It is not just Christians who are promoting this in Africa (and yes, some of them are) but there is a previous cultural taboo about witches in Africa.

And frankly, it is too bad that often they target the wrong people because there are people who fit the "witchdoctor" epitaph in Africa who do and promote things which are horrifying to contemplate. Such as hunting down certain people, like Albinos, to use their body parts in stupid ceremonies or "potions." If was one of the people living in fear of those guys, I'd probably want to hunt them down too.

Of course, they are more likely to just do it to the woman they don't like or the kids they find annoying because actually doing something useful is way too much work apparently.

It saddens me to think that evolution has progressed no further

That is absolutely terrible, I am sad to hear that anything like that has happened to anyone's ancestors.

That's one of the worst things about it; if abominations like this are allowed to be carried out then people will always manipulate a situation so it works their way. I can see most of the people being burnt getting burnt just because someone didn't like them.

Yes it is sickening... We should be working together as a race to promote happiness and love. Instead we are killing each other over materialistic, dominatrix urges.

This still happens in India all the time. And it is obviously acceptable for 2 reasons...

(a) No-one is stopping it.

(b) India got awarded the Commonwealth games. So even nations with close ties with the country will not boycott them for it.

I agree with you. I don't usually agree with forced regime change but if things like this are allowed to happen to people without hindrance then someone definitely needs to do something... even if they are going to upset someone in the process.

Saudi Arabia does it- or cuts their heads off - and we sell them 60 billion in advanced weapon systems.
They are holding 2 now ready to kill them for it.
