The build-up to President Obama's visit is not going smoothly at all, says a former Indian ambassador to the United States. He thinks, "If not handled well, it can turn directionless."

Even before the US president arrives in India, many hurdles have sprung up in his path, namely, the tricky issues related to nuclear liability, the Headley case, the visit to Amritsar, the H1B visa issue and outsourcing ban.

Yeah your right, the queen does travel on train and fly commercial, and even though im not a particular royalist i saw somewhere that the royal family cost every british person the price of a packet of walkers crisps ( lays chips to americans) a year, and they do bring in a lot of tourism etc, so whats the big deal, its funny that britain has now become a two party state, i never thought this would happen, slightly more on topic, how can these heads of state justify these massively expensive trips abroad when so many ( like myself) are struggling to make things meet, i know some would say that its part of their role, but god it isnt half rubbing it in. 800 luxury hotel rooms booked for Obama's visit to Mumbai

Frantic preparations are underway for US president Barack Obama’s visit to Mumbai. Sources in the security establishment said 547 rooms and all banquet halls at the Taj Mahal hotel near the Gateway of India are likely to be booked for the president’s visit. Apart from this, 125 rooms at the Taj President in Cuffe Parade and 80-90 rooms in ITC Grand Hyatt will be booked for Obama’s entourage.

The US president is expected to arrive in the city on the afternoon of November 6 and is likely to leave the next day in the evening. “Michelle, Obama’s wife, is expected to visit an NGO in Kamathipura on the second day. We have to chalk out security plans for her visit since the area is densely populated,” a source from the security establishment said.

President Obama won't bake in the heat from the November 2nd election for very long, as he has a November 6 date in Mumbai (formerly Bombay), India. He and First Lady Michelle will stay at the five star Taj Mahal Hotel. In fact, they will do everything but *own* it.

Economic Times reports that all 570 rooms, along with banquet rooms and restaurants will be rented. But that's not the *whole* story. Also required (and rented) are 125 rooms at the Taj President, more than 150 rooms at the Grand Hyatt and Oberoi (combined), and the entire National Centre for the Performing Arts (NPCA).

The full party will be flown in on two jumbo jets, and the Presidential convoy will contain 45 cars.

Well, the one actual legitimate role that is utilized by modern day presidents is that being the chief diplomat to the country. While taking the enormous staff he has, along with chefs, all the navy ships stationed, secret service and on and on, shows that the presidency (pasts included) have become nothing more than a glorified 4-8 year lottery binge with the Peoples monies.

This is because Thew United States Secret Service requires the total booking of any facility that POTUS is traveling to so that it reduces and eliminates the risk of an assassination by 90%. It is nothing more then USSS being proactive and protecting thier charge and to see this as yet, another lame oppourtunity to attack POTUS or the nation itself is wrong and whoever thinks otherwise seriously needs to get a hobby!

I can only think of two responces. Either obama didn't get the memo about the economy. Just like he didn't know just how bad the economy really was when he tok office. Whuch would mean he really wasn't qualified to be president. Or he thinks that they can just print more money, they can charge us more interest on the national debt. And they can raise our retirement age to 78-80. They're only peasants and can always get more.

Actually it does not matter where Obama was born; by his own admission, his father was Kenyan, under British jurisdiction, thus Obama is ineligible to be POTUS.

I dont get your point. High profile leaders need top security and that is possible in top hotles with proper management, and you can't get that in the hovels you might stay in if you were overseas.

What will you define as World War 3? Because as of 2001 America and at least half a dozen European nations are involved directly in three middle eastern countries and indirectly in a handful of African and Asian countries. Israel is pretty much in a permanent state of "KILL ALL NON JEWS" when people arent looking and there is a drug warn the American border. The only possible signifigance to the date of October 2014 would be an Afghan pullout by NATO , and thats not going to happen. Why you ask? Because too much has already been invested, and with Iraq law in their own hands we can now divert appropriate resources to Afghan. The key security issue with that land is Pakistan, which leads to the next point. The only states that would ever go nuclear due to the current geopolitical climate is India and Pakistan. American intelligence and military brass know that there is not much holding up the state of Pakistan as it is now, and we can speculate that between US, IAEA, and India intelligence know the location of the bulk of their nuclear stockpile. Very likely contigency plans already exist to address that issue. And these trips to India continue to reaffirm our committment to regional stability.

Even if we detonate three dozen megaton+ nukes the falllout would not kill the entire northern hemisphere. Fact most of it would not even be killed off. everything does not die from radiation, many things in the natural world just mutate. The only culprit in this scenario would be Iran, which they would not do unless absoultley provoked, or Pakistan which would use their nuke on India before Europe. And as far as Muslim declaring war on "Chemical surviving Europe" well thats just silly. Assuming Iran or Pakistan got off a single nuke that actually hit Europe, they dont have the volume to disable it. Even so, the first target of the Muslim world would be the illegal, racist/apartheid state of Israel. Again this scenario makes no sense, and the statement was made without any real thought into what it takes for such an event to unfold.

I don't think it's he that has to worry. It's us. The minute I read this post, my mind focused on two things: Nuclear or chemical attack on U.S., or He's been forewarned of an uprising, or possible coup.

I don't think we'll see Biden, he'll be gone ahead of all this. I think Hillary may know something and may be reaching for the reigns. This could be where the Biden/Hillary switching roles began, in the rumor mill.

I think we're about to become aware of something. We're gonna be told something, shown something, or realize something. Something really big and breaking. Something is happening behind the scenes, and I don't think it's something very good for us Americans.
