Call me an idealist, but the President of the United States ought to be able to go anywhere with a minimum security detail. But only if he was truly the leader of a government that was acting as the constitution intended. The idea was to be humble, sensitive, not get overtly dependent on any other country, spend wisely, reject greed, be attentive to the people, and most importantly: TO STAY OUT OF THE AFFAIRS OF OTHER COUNTRIES Instead we invade them on manufactured evidence, and create mass mayhem all over the planet. Nice.

You are an idealist....

All the above is true but in fairness he had a lot of ground to recover, many burned bridges to repair. He first needs to establish a position before he lays a framework for understanding and cooperation. GWB didn't do anything to further the agenda or image of Americans abroad.

We do a lot of good for other Nations but our errors make the most news. It is wise to at least admit them and move on rather than pretend they never happened. This is where we get the "arrogant" label. And we are.

For those of you who follow the webbot project, there is a prediction out there that an event will occur during this time frame. The website at halfpasthuman.com actually predicts an event creating an emotional response 100 times greater that the 9/11 event.

Notice the dates for the month of November
www.diwali.nl...

It is a festival of lights symbolizing the victory of righteousness and the lifting of spiritual darkness. It celebrates the victory of good over evil - and the glory of light. This festival commemorates Lord Rama's return to his kingdom Ayodhya after completing his 14-year exile.

November 5 - Diwali (Hindu, Sikh, Jain)
November 10 - Tulsi Vivaha (Hindu)

According to Hindu mythology, the Tulsi plant was a woman named Vrinda (Brinda), a synonym of Tulsi. She was married to the demon-king Jalandhar. Due to her piety and devotion to Vishnu, her husband became invincible.

The origin of Choti Diwali
This day is also known as "Bali Pratipada". The word "Pratiprada" literally means "below the opponent's foot". According to the myth Bali was an immensely powerful king. When God felt that King Bali was becoming too powerful, Vishnu, disguised as a sage of diminutive proportions, appeared in his court. Bali offered to fulfill any of the sage's wishes. The sage asked for all the land he could cover in 3 paces. King Bali agreed immediately. Vishu then assumed a gigantic form and claimed the world (Mrityuloka), and the heavens (Swargloka) in two paces. To keep his foot down the 3rd time, he asked for King Bali's head. Bali agreed. Thus, the reign of Bali was overthrown.

Nutan Varsh 2010 is the first day of Hindu Vikram Year 2067 and is the New Year day in Gujarat. Nutan Varsh 2010 date is November 6. It is also the first day of the financial New Year in North India. It is observed on the Kartik Sud 1 or first day of Kartik Month as per traditional Gujarati calendar.

Michelle to meet with prostitutes,
Sacred prostitutes,

1. Far East
In India, temple prostitution was a requirement for all Santal girls at Telkupi Ghat, who were under the obligation to be a public prostitute at least once in their lives; similar to the duties prescribed for all women of Babylon. Among the caste of weavers in Tamil Nadu, it is regarded as proper and normal that at least one daughter of the family be dedicated to the service of the god as one of his hierodules, and the girls are vowed to such service from birth. Southern India also knows the bayaderes, or nautch girls, who are part prostitutes part temple dancers similar to the devadasis; all of which are so-called wives of god - and/or the king.
A special case is the Kumari puja, a ritual defloration involving young virgins, and the Nila Tantra requires that such a kumari (virgin) be given a "fee in gold, silver or pearls".
[Banerjee, S. C. A Brief History of Tantra Literature. Calcutta, 1988. p.251]
Apart from this, the involved devotee is held responsible for all expenses of the girl’s future marriage.

Having nothing to lose with that much power and with the time left can make nearly anything possible.

Good to know whenever the President decides to live it up, he can count on ATS to make it a much bigger deal than it is and paint it in a negative light.

Than you Connector, I think you made an exceelent point. As to the expenditures of past POTUS to different foreign nations, I tried to find a chart for that, but have still not had any success. I did however post a Washington Post graphic that breaksdown government expendetures by type, agency, as well as historical income reciepts and surplus/deficit information. It is quite informative, especially the spending by agency chart.

Here it is again www.washingtonpost.com...

My best guess was that this expenditure fell under the budget for the Office of Personnel Management, which recieves a paltry 1.8% , but more than enough to cover expenses which include this trip. Its not like we took money out of schools or unemployment budgets, it was already set aside for these specific purposes. Maybe some people need to understand how budgets work, and respect the humble allocations to necessary function.

We cannot compare our personal lives and the expenses we have to State Business and their expenses. It is two different worlds for a reason. We can debate that in another thread though.

I can almost gaurantee that alot of the personal discussions between our intelligence heads, POTUS, and the Indian counterparts will revolve around Pakistan and their terrorist supporting ISI. Remember that their is an official story that the media puts out and what they really talk about behind closed doors. The actor turns off in those meetings you know. Like the G20 and WTO meetings. They say they are there to talk of aid and whatnot. But its closed door meetings that really end up being financial situation reports to the unreported bankers who are also attending those meetings.

The situation is similar during state meetings, but the topic is more often of a military and intelligence nature revolving around immediate campeigns.

Obama doesn't need ATS to generate a negative image of anything he and his administration has done and are doing.

He has done a great job of that on his own, without our input... Don't believe me?

Ask just about anyone outside of ATS, what they think about this and other issues.

Thing is, Obama is very proud of everything they have done so far, and since the majority of that has been either minimally affective at best, and entirely destructive/counterproductive at worst, it should speak volumes about the true intent of this man and his administration.

No ATS spin required.

*2U!

An honest man doesn't have anything to hide, but a devious liar has to go to extremes to cover his past.

$3 million to cover his past vs. the scamming of the American taxpayer? Hmmmm? It looks like $ 3 million ain't nothing compared to what he's gotten already and he's got two more years to go!

What do you expect out of a typical Chicagoan thug?

Just wait and see what happens when he visits Pakistan next year.

They'd have at least three carrier strike groups lurking in the Arabian sea, an air borne division on standby in Saudi Arabia ready for action, a Marine division stationed probably in India near the Pakistani border, the whole of Islamabad evacuated for security reasons, and needless to say, a couple of squadrons of F-18s/F-35s escorting Air Force One, accompanied by half a dozen Boeing 747s stuffed with sleuths from the FBI, CIA and other three letter clubs!!! And not to forget a KC-135 Stratotanker filled not with high octane fuel but with fresh vegetables and dry rations from America along with a platoon of chefs and food tasters! Jeeeez!!

All this for one man's excursion!

Here's another that has me curious about the timing of his trip

Time magazine predict civil unrest

What is the most likely cause today of civil unrest? Immigration. Gay Marriage. Abortion. The Results of Election Day. The Mosque at Ground Zero. Nope.

Try the Federal Reserve. November 3rd is when the Federal Reserve's next policy committee meeting ends, and if you thought this was just another boring money meeting you would be wrong. It could be the most important meeting in Fed history, maybe. The US central bank is expected to announce its next move to boost the faltering economic recovery.

Whether you agree with the President or not the leader of the US security is very important to US peace and worldwide peace. There is a reason why he won the nobel. Not b/c of what he has done but b/c of the inspiration of peace he has preached.

He has done more for this country in the past two years than most presidents do in two terms. You may not agree with what he has done but he accomplished a lot. He rocks.

Mr. President is that you?

You honor us with your presence, now can you PLEASE finally start doing your job?

I said Please!

and they're concerned that my driving my car the seven or so blocks to work is gonna destroy the planet??

I'm all for the video conferencing idea!!! Actions speak louder than words...if they are truly concerned about greenhouse gases and such, they should develop a secure system for all the people to meet via video conference and well, cut their travel budgets down to size!

predictions from web bot and others that Nov. 8th to the 11th specifically are a red flag for possible terrorist or other actions. I wouldn't normally think too much about it but this visit coincides so...Obama is to do a speaking engagement on Nov. 8th in India as well...odd, very odd. And won't that piss off our sort of but not really friends in Pakistan too?

All of the preparations have been made. The time has come. Immediately following the election and swearing in...

He wants to be out of the country when he issues the command,

"EXECUTE ORDER 66"

And suddenly Congress and Supreme Court are gone.
