No. Comets are not massive enough. Anything with enough mass to significantly alter the axis of rotation of the Earth would also obliterate all life on Earth.

Magnetic reversals are not pole shifts. That is not how the fringe authors use the term pole shift. See Hapgood and Hancock for pole shift. The misuse of the term pole shift has led to confusions such as you have presented.

The issue about a pole shift or more properly a TPW causing the Earth to spin in the other direction is as well. The geological evidence is very clear that the Earth did not stop and begin spinning in the other orientation.

Food in the mouth is evidence of an animal that needs to eat for many hours a day to survive. An animal such as a bovine or elephant has food in its mouth for most of the day. The mammoths you are referring to died by drowning. They died quickly and were preserved.

The other issue with the mammoths is that there are many blatant lies about the finds. Very few mammoths have ever been found in a good state of preservation, but there are many claims about finding heaps and heaps of well preserved mammoths. That simply is not true.

No worries I was also thinking along the lines of a super sudden extreme temp drop which I'm fairly certain could happen. Seems strange that they would have drowned as animals seem to have a higher sense than use perfect example is when natural disasters are close to happening the animals move somewhere so they are not affected.

They didn't drown in floods, but isolated incidents where an animal died crossing muddy terrain.

I don't think a sudden temperature drop killed the animals. Those can happen of course, but my understanding is that mud has been found inside of many of the animals.

Take a look at this recent and well preserved specimen.

From this we learn that the baby mammoth died about 40,000 years ago on the Yamal Peninsula of Siberia.

So here is a journal article on the place.

Take a look at p367. There is a simple table called fig 9. At the time of Lyuba we see that the place was a shallow lake. This is followed by regional glaciation. Then it becomes a shallow marine or deltaic environment. This does not suggest that the introduction of glaciers was a pole shift to make the place change to a polar region and then back with another pole shift does it?

What's really a part of the whole notion, is that the environment in which these animals lived was not long term static, but rather a dynamic system that was wetter, colder, warmer, drier, and so forth over time and that local history does not indicate anything other than we live on a dynamic planet.

This is the article that describes what the environment was like at one of the sites where a baby mammoth was found. The mammoth was one of the best preserved specimens ever recovered.

The Pole Shift is not a shift of the planet flipping over, merely the magnetic poles reversing. The Sun has that happen every 11 years. As a matter of fact it just happened a while back
