The most dangerous type of malaria-carrying mosquito, which kills up to a million people each year, is evolving into two different species, posing grave problems for controlling the transmission of the blood parasite.

The revelation could present real difficulties in controlling malaria because eradication strategies directed against one mosquito species may not be effective against another

The rapid speciation within the mosquito species can only be because of our ways to fought of malaria infections. We prevent malaria by making it almost impossible for the malaria mosquitoes to reproduce or by killing them.

It is only a matte of time a small species like a mosquito would try and end up in newer forms to be better fitted to survive our constant meddling.

Not saying this shouldn't be done...

Why do they do not go after the source of the problems which is the malaria infection instead of its host. When you take away the little buggers stinger... Who cares where his traffic system will lead him.

Is it to much of an ordeal to actually cure malaria instead of trying preventing it's spread by attacking it's host ?

I understand there are certain people actually immune to malaria naturally. That must make a difference in fighting the actual dissease doen't it ?
