The 68-year-old Traficant was elected to nine terms in Congress as a Democrat from Youngstown before serving time for racketeering, bribery, obstruction of justice and tax evasion. He left federal prison in September. His conviction does not bar him from running for Congress.

When a CONGRESSMAN goes to jail, you know he's against the elite...because if he's really been a criminal, 99% of congress/senate would be in jail.

Telling the truth about the government.

Telling the truth.

This guy looks awesome.

What a wonderful country we live in. /sarcasm

Who cares about what party he's from?

He's a crook and crooks are not welcome in any party.

Now that's funny. Most people in congress are crooks and are reelected 90%+ of the time.

Why do you think THIS GUY was sent to prison, but all the others crooks were able to go around doing their usual corruption?

Ah yes, because he's not a real crook.

Remember Spitzer? Spitzer went after the banks... and... ended up in jail.

Reading the OP article, I couldn't help but recall this quote:

"In a Democracy, the people get the government they deserve."

Good, the guy was jailed because he went against the agenda of those he was supposed to work for......

Being truthful can be a dangerous thing when one is surrounded by liars.
