Today's headline: 'Missiles fired from Nevada controlled drone aircraft kill Taliban leader'.

So how is it done? These controllers are based in Nevada and are each flying a drone thousands of miles away in the combat zone in Iraq and Afghanistan . Their left hand is on the throttle controlling the drone's engine. Note that all the buttons perform various tasks without removing the hand from the controls. The right hand is flying the plane.

Watch how it's done. Turn the speakers on & watch in full screen.

To me it looks more like a trainingroom for Drone-Controlers
second line.

No it's not! This is the real deal - control room, real drones and real air space. Check out this vid too....

This is the future of air warfare by remote control. Why spend $120 million for an F-35 and the risk the lives of pilots during deep penetration strikes when it can be done by a drone? 'Pilots' in the control room can take real time decisions like they were in the cockpit of an actual aircraft.
