Hi first post,

I was looking at the LASCO C3 images and was wondering what causes the effect seen in the NW section of the disc? It also appears on the C2

Posted here as I would prefer a logical answer rather than people shouting its a ufo because it "appears to move"

I think it's Mercury or another planet. Planets have that bright point with the east westt light ban. ie below
sci.esa.int...
