Was watching it as well.

Very interesting and thought provoking!!

I liked the taste test with the chefs as well!!


The McGurk effect is amazing and fools everyone!! But if you dont look you hear the same everytime!!

yeah very very interesting.
this has massive implications way beyond what
we thought were possible.
looks like the scientists studying this phenomenon
will make some major breakthroughs!

oh and it was HORIZON ON BBC2 not bbc1
this is a MUST WATCH on BBC i player.

It certainly mixes in well with some of the current threads at the moment.

I am looking for the taste test but cannot find it. Its nice to see professionals fooled now and then!!


Unfortunatley I cannot get BBCiplayer here in Spain, I will have to wait for youtube!!

I just saw this video and saved it for my kids, who love learning about the wonders of our world. The Mcgurk effect is an amazing display of how we can be tricked, our brains so not ready for the visual and auditory slight of hand that we can't figure it out. Even when we know it is coming. Very interesting. Thanks for posting...here is another vid.

recommend watching "Horizon"
on BBC2 on i player.
there documentary about the effect
is very very informative and fun.
