As I said, the US has never extradicted any IRA members for trial in the UK. REquests for extradition have been made. This indicates that support for the IRA occurs at an institutional level. Misled members of your country are not the one's making decisions on this subject, the Justice department is (or some similar branch of the state). As such, at least some departments of the US state supported the IRA in their terrorism.
